Painful periods can change.

So many women come to me believing their painful periods are just something they have to live with.

They’ve been told it’s “normal.”
They’ve tried birth control.
They’ve tried painkillers.
They’ve tried random supplements they saw online.

And still… every month their period knocks them down.
Cramps.
Heavy bleeding.
Bloating.
Mood swings.
Exhaustion.

They start planning their lives around their cycle.
Canceling plans.
Missing workouts.
Taking days off work.
Just trying to push through the pain.

But here’s what I see every day with the women I work with…
Painful periods are common. They are not normal.

When we look deeper, the body usually gives us clues.
Things like blood sugar instability, inflammation, poor digestion, nutrient deficiencies, chronic stress, and poor sleep can all disrupt hormone balance and make periods much harder than they need to be.

When the body gets the right support, it responds.

Prenatal yoga is designed to prepare the expectant mother for labour. This class has many benefits for both mom and baby and helps alleviate many common discomforts mothers experience in their changing bodies. The Yoga postures during pregnancy focus on strengthening and relaxing the uterus and pelvic muscles, improving circulation and balance, aiding with digestion, relieving tension, and revitalizing the internal organs. No, prior yoga experience is necessary, and you can start at any point during your pregnancy with your doctor’s or midwife’s approval.

Dates: Sunday, April 19th, 26th, May 3, 10, 24, 31st. (There will be no class on May 17th for the May long weekend.)

Most women have been told painful period cramps are just something you have to live with.

Take the pain medication. Use the heating pad. Push through it every month.

But cramps aren’t random, and they’re not a personal failure of your body.

Your uterus is a muscle doing an important job. When inflammation is high, blood sugar is unstable, stress is constant, or key nutrients are missing, those contractions can become stronger, sharper, and far more painful.

Pain is often your body’s warning light… not something to silence, but something to listen to.
