Discharge days are our favourite kind of days! There’s something incredibly special about the day a client is discharged from OCD treatment. Yesterday, our office was filled with streamers, treats, music, and a lot of proud smiles as Samantha Boddington, one of our therapists, celebrated a discharge with a young client. What they were really celebrating can’t be captured in photos. They were celebrating a person who chose courage over comfort again and again. Who showed up on hard days. Who faced fears that once felt impossible. Who practiced resilience when OCD told them they couldn’t. That special certificate they received? It represents every brave exposure, every moment of uncertainty tolerated, every time they kept going anyway. Courage deserves to be celebrated. 🎉
Our therapists love these moments because seeing clients reclaim their lives is why we do this work.

“Is this anxiety… or is this OCD?” 🤔It’s a question we hear often — and an important one! Anxiety often shows up as ongoing worry, with or without a clear trigger. OCD involves intrusive thoughts that cause intense distress, followed by compulsions to try to feel better. Because they can look similar, OCD is often mistaken for anxiety. Understanding the difference matters, as anxiety and OCD are often treated in very different ways.

Throughout my education, practicums, and work experience, I knew I never wanted to become a generalist.
As a Registered MSW, I took a special interest in OCD and became certified in Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
Here's why I love treating in OCD:
Hope: That recovery is possible with the right treatment.
Treatment approach: individualized ERP means I am helping people overcome their fear every day.
Results: The research supports ERP for OCD symptom reduction!
