Vault Mental Health offers counselling and psychotherapy to improve and strengthen the lives of individuals, couples, families and communities.

Vault Mental Health is a progressive practice; our therapists are constantly learning and growing alongside our clients each day. We believe that our therapeutic practices should incorporate tried and true techniques while constantly evolving to give our clients the opportunity to become their best self. Our therapists are extensively trained and feel that a welcoming atmosphere, caring attitude and ability to collaborate are important facets of the process. Why 2026 Is Making Us Feel Like It’s 2016 Again. Well, At Least From a Therapist’s Perspective ✨

If you’ve found yourself thinking “Why does 2026 feel like 2016” you’re not alone. I’m hearing this weekly in sessions, and yes it’s absolutely a thing.

From a therapist’s lens, this isn’t random. And it’s not just because our playlists have suddenly gone back to Drake, Rihanna, and early Taylor Swift 🎶. It’s your nervous system doing what it does best trying to self soothe.

When life feels uncertain, overwhelming, or chronically stressful, our nervous systems go looking for safety. Nostalgia isn’t just sentimentality. It’s a regulation strategy 🧠. Think of it as your brain reaching for a weighted blanket, except the blanket is Snapchat dog filters 🐶, high waisted jeans, music festivals, and hitting up the mall for the perfect bar shirt before the weekend.

Camara brings extensive experience supporting children, youth, and adults through complex emotional, relational, and workplace challenges. She has been providing counselling services for several years, helping clients navigate anxiety, trauma, grief, and life transitions with compassion and clinical expertise. Her diverse professional background spans psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and leadership in workplace mental health, including roles in public safety, investigations, and community services.

Camara offers psychotherapy services to individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, infertility, and relationship stressors. Drawing from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered approaches, she works collaboratively with clients to build coping skills, improve communication, and strengthen emotional well-being. Her trauma-informed, culturally sensitive practice supports clients from diverse backgrounds.

Elise offers compassionate, empathetic support to children (8+), youth and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, school challenges, life transitions, breakups, grief, parenting support, and self-esteem. Elise strives to develop a strong, therapeutic relationship with clients, and will occasionally utilize her sense of humor to support developing a safe, and comfortable space for you to explore your vulnerable experiences.

THIS IS OUR REAL, AMAZING, COMPASSIONATE TEAM! 💛
I recently came across a powerful article from Toronto Life titled “The Chatbot Will See You Now.”
The author spent four weeks trading her human therapist for an AI-based “therapist.”
What she discovered wasn’t comforting. The lack of true emotional attunement, empathy, and deep connection felt stark.
Surprising? NO!
As a therapist and mental-health advocate, this hits close to home for me.
Therapy ... REAL therapy, is built on trust, compassion, relational safety, and the human capacity to hold pain, grief, joy, and growth.
A machine can’t truly “see” you in that way. These are OUR therapists! REAL humans, ready to connect in ways AI never could.
At Vault, we strive to make care accessible, convenient, and never intimidating so mental-health support is available to individuals and families across Ontario. While AI may be financially accessible, it is not a substitute for human vulnerability, relational attunement, or the sacred experience of being truly witnessed.

We’re all human.
And as both a therapist and a human, I’m reminded that growth isn’t linear—it’s a continuous process of learning, unlearning, and re-learning. One hard truth I’ve had to revisit lately is this: eventually, we have to stop offering chances to people who repeatedly let us down. At some point, the pattern becomes as much our responsibility as theirs.
Letting go is hard—but so is getting dragged.
If you needed this reminder today, I hope it brings you the same clarity it once brought me. 🤎✨
