💻 Inside Kinesiology: Behind the Scenes

Upgrading computer setup—including dual monitors and updated accounting software—has already made a noticeable difference in workflow speed and organization.

Faster processing, streamlined invoicing, and smoother receipt management mean less duplicate work and fewer delays. It’s also helping to move closer to a fully paperless system.

These behind‑the‑scenes improvements keep everything running efficiently so client care stays front and centre.

💪 Inside Kinesiology 🏃‍♀️‍➡️

Recovery after surgery is rarely linear. This scenario reflects the kind of work that happens behind the scenes in kinesiology—creating structured, progressive movement plans, and adjusting pace based on how the body responds.

Every recovery journey is unique; guiding movement with intention, helping to rebuild confidence step by step, and ensuring clients have the right support at the right time is one of the most meaningful parts of this work.

❄️ Don't let winter put the freeze on movement! ❄️

Winter can make hips and knees feel stiff, but a few simple movement habits can keep your joints healthy all season.

Here are five winter-friendly ways to keep your joints happy:

• Add a gentle warm-up before heading outside
• Sprinkle in ‘movement snacks’ throughout your day
• Use heat for stiffness, movement for relief
• Prioritize strength training to protect joints from strain
• Stay hydrated to reduce joint stiffness

Your body loves consistency, not intensity. A little movement, often, is the magic!

❤️ Heart Month for Women

Heart disease is the #1 cause of premature death in Canadian women. Symptoms in women can be subtle - prevention isn't.

Women’s symptoms can look different: chest discomfort, jaw/back pain, breathlessness, nausea, or sudden fatigue. Know the signs 👩‍🦳

The good news: many risks are preventable.

💗 150 min/week of moderate–vigorous activity.
💗 Strength training 2x/week.
💗 Balance work if mobility is limited.

Move More. Lift Often. 🏋🏼‍♀️ Breathe Harder. 🫁

Strong women protect their hearts — begin your movement plan today!

🏂 With the Winter Olympics having cone and gone, it’s hard not to feel inspired by the strength, focus, and determination that was on display. But here’s the truth: you don’t need to be an Olympian to move like an athlete. 🥇

Your ‘inner athlete’ is the part of you that shows up, tries something new, takes a deep breath, and keeps going — even on cold February days.

Winter movement doesn’t have to be intense to be meaningful. Try these:

• A walk on a snowy trail
• A few minutes of balance practice
• Gentle mobility work
• Getting outside for fresh air

They all count!

Every small choice to move supports your joints, boosts your mood, and builds confidence.

So if the Olympics spark something in you this week, follow that nudge. Your inner athlete is already there — you’re just giving them a chance to shine.

What winter movement is helping you feel your best lately?

Drop a ❄️ if you’re cheering on your inner athlete this season.

📣 Have you heard the exciting news?? 📣

The Innisfil warm pool has officially re‑opened following the May 12, 2025 fire! This is a huge milestone, and very meaningful for many people in our community who rely on warm‑water movement for comfort, strength, and connection.

Warm‑water exercise offers relief, mobility support, and a safe space for rehabilitation — and we are grateful to see this resource available again.

Thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly to restore this space.

If you’re returning to the pool and want guidance on safe movement, pacing, or rebuilding confidence, we're here to support you. 😊💧

🧠 Weekend well spent!

I had the privilege of attending World of Hurt: A Guide to Classifying Pain—a deep dive into pain science, clinical reasoning, and client care.

Huge thanks to the brilliant instructors Annie and Melissa and to Dr. Kyle at for hosting such a thoughtful, well-run course. The learning and networking were top-notch!

Here are a few gems that stuck with me:

✅ Pain is multifactorial—not just biomechanical
🗣️ Language matters: how we talk about pain shapes recovery
💪 Empowerment is key to healing

Feeling inspired and ready to bring these insights into practice—especially for active agers and those navigating complex pain stories.
