Today we honour all who served and the families who continue to carry their stories.
For many veterans, the toughest battles don’t end when service does. Across Ontario, thousands live with post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, chronic pain or substance-use challenges that began with their time in uniform.

October 10th is World Mental Health Day. This year’s theme is about access to mental health services during catastrophes and emergencies. Strong communities are essential to good mental health, before, during and after an emergency or disaster. We build these communities when we weave mental health skill-building into all aspects of our lives: home, work, school, and play. Community-based mental health organizations like CMHA help do just that.

The energy begins to build! 🎶 Enjoy live music, free food, and photo ops while connecting with amazing local organizations doing important work. It’s the perfect time to mingle, learn, and get inspired.

6:40 – 7:00 PM: Powerful Speeches
Hear from passionate speakers who will share stories, truths, and messages of strength and solidarity. Prepare to be moved.

7:00 PM: The March Begins ✊
Together, we’ll take to the streets in a powerful, unified march to show our support, raise our voices, and make a difference.

Registration Information
If you are attending for the first time and have not completed the Application for Support and Consent
Forms, please contact the Family Support Program directly at familysupport@cmhastarttalking.ca before
your chosen group date. Once your forms are submitted, the Family Support staff will guide you through the
registration process. Each participant must complete their own forms.

First Tuesday of Each Month – Hosted by Tara & Christine
- September 2
- October 7
- November 4
- December 2

Third Monday of Each Month – Hosted by Christine & Family Peer
- September 15
- October 20
- November 17
- December 15

If you have already completed the initial forms, please fill out the Family Group Registration Form and
send it to familysupport@cmhastarttalking.ca to register for the group.

Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Method: Hybrid (In-person sessions in Barrie and OTN link sent 2 business days before the group meeting)

This workshop is in person only. Location to be given upon registration.

A workshop for client family members and caregivers impacted by a loved ones su***de thoughts and attempts with a focus on prevention. This is a 2-day event, please register only if you can attend both days. This event is only available in person.
