Movement is at the heart of travel.
The ability to leave your home, cross a street, walk freely through the world — we treat that as a privilege when it should be a right.
Right now in Minneapolis, people are being detained for moving through their own lives.
A five-year-old taken from his driveway after preschool.
A two-year-old put on a plane to a detention center.
And countless others forcefully evicted from their life.
At AEI, we believe no one should be afraid to leave their house.
No child should be punished for existing.
And no system that relies on fear, confinement, or separation deserves our silence.
Travel teaches us that freedom of movement is precious — but it also reminds us that it’s deeply unequal. We stand against ICE and the harm being inflicted on families and communities right now.
Because ethical travel means standing up for dignity everywhere — not just abroad, but at home too.
