This image is a reality check: Breast implants do not last forever. ⬆️Pictured here is a deflated saline implant after removal.
The Breakdown:
🔹 The Deflation: The shell failed due to age. The saline leaked out (safely absorbed by the body), leaving behind this empty, wrinkled shell.
🔹 The "Yellow Stuff": That sediment is simply body fluid that seeped inside the empty shell and accumulated over time.
The Takeaway: Implants aren't lifetime devices. The older they get, the higher the risk of failure. If yours are 10+ years old or changing shape, book a check-up with Dr. Tumi. Don't set it and forget it. Knowledge is power.

Dr. Kamal Tumi graduated medical school in 1987 and began exploring the many medical fields of specialization. After deciding to focus on plastic surgery in 1989, Dr. Tumi continued to practice his skills. He eventually achieved his Canadian Specialist Certificate in Plastic Surgery from the McMaster University, and completed a plastic surgery fellowship with the University of Toronto. In 2004 Dr. Tumi opened the Barrie Plastic Surgery clinic, and joined Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) as a plastic surgery consultant.
Dr. Tumi continues to attend workshops, symposia, and conferences to remain at the forefront of the plastic surgery industry. In his spare time, Dr. Tumi volunteers his surgical skills in developing countries to help those in need. His accolades include memberships with:
The Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons;
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons;
The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Canada;
The Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons;

Ashley
Ashley Magliocci is our highly experienced office manager who has been with Barrie Plastic Surgery since 2011. Her expertise makes it easy to book and prepare for any procedure you are interested in. Ashley is always eager to help our patients and ensure they have an excellent experience with Barrie Plastic Surgery. Ashley is also a fully trained CoolSculpting Technician who is certified to perform the body-sculpting procedure at Barrie Plastic Surgery.
Amber
Amber McCoy is Barrie Plastic Surgery’s friendly and informative receptionist.
