March 15, 1964 - Canadian United Nations peacekeepers first arrive in Cyprus to help ease the turmoil on the island

Our country’s peacekeeping efforts in Cyprus have been one of Canada's longest and best-known overseas military commitments. Canadian soldiers first arrived on March 15, 1964, and a large military contingent served on the Mediterranean island until 1993. A small Canadian Armed Forces presence remains there today, as United Nations peace efforts continue. In total, more than 25,000 Canadians have served in Cyprus over the decades. So, spring will be delayed a bit I see. Well worth the wait though!
I am over my flu/cold/pneumonia now, have done some gardening & raking up of the stubborn oak leaves, which don't fall til December/January.

For the past 17 days I've been battling, not only that nasty flu that's been running rampant in Barrie, but mine turned into borderline pneumonia. Talk about lack of energy & wondering where it went to........ugh! It's been a very long road back, but at least I feel a bit better. I am at least feeling a bit ambitious, & actually sleeping instead of coughing & wheezing the long nights.
Think I caught it on the plane. I heard a man with a nasty cough on the plane & just had a BAD feeling about that cough of his. Things that make you go Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

So, do you have spring fever yet? Continuing on that diet to get your body bs ready? (that's bathing suit)
This is a good time to order your seeds or bulbs for spring time, if you missed doing so in the fall, then as soon as the ground is turnable, you can just pop them in & wait, knowing that the deed is done.
I'm out west now. Arrived on Feb. 6 to do the Nana thing.
Heading back to Barrie tomorrow.
Just in case you have bought some new slacks or outfit & it needs some adjusting, let me do the TLC for you at a discounted price & you won't be waiting long. I guarantee my work.

Got lots of knitting & sewing accomplished for Christmas.
How are all of you doing with your Christmas planning & buying?
Need anything mended or altered? I'm here until the 9th, then back on the 16th. Last minute things are my specialty. Party dress not quite fitting right. Liz'll fix it for you very reasonably!

I must confess that I truly have taken the summer off my Liz Tayloring Facebook site & I must sincerely apologize, but time slips away from one, so it's now fall again, & I'm back on track with you all again. Let me know what's on your mind, what you've been doing, & what you hope the coming year will have in store for you. I always love to hear about other's viewpoints.

Aside from altering a suit, I am going to…..wait for it…….starting my spring cleaning, Am I crazy? Perhaps I shouldn't have asked that question. Don't really want your response to it, no matter how much you want to reply. Restrain yourself pleasssssse. I already know the answer. Ok…back to spring cleaning. LOL
