Home Care Assistance Barrie and Simcoe County

Home Care Assistance Barrie and Simcoe County Home Care Assistance is North America's premier provider of in-home care for seniors

We got into the this business because Domenic experienced the challenges his father had when diagnosed with Cancer while being the Care Giver for Domenic’s mother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Dementia. We understands the pressures and stress on the family during these difficult times. Deborah's has cared for her Grandmother, travelling 2 hours to attend to her needs. She was there for her parents during their last breath and provided love, comfort and support to the families. We want to help families elimate the stress and support them with the evoling needs of Older Adults

Is your loved one’s home a fall risk?

Falls are one of the biggest health risks for older adults—but a few small changes can make their home safer and more accessible.

Here are a few simple ways to help prevent falls:
✔️ Add better lighting
✔️ Clear walkways of clutter
✔️ Remove or tape down rugs
✔️ Use non-slip mats in tubs, kitchens, and other slick areas

Encourage gentle exercises that build balance and strength, too—every bit helps reduce the risk.

❓ What’s the difference between 24-hour care and hourly care?

With 24-hour care, caregivers stay in shifts around the clock—providing constant supervision, safety, and support.

Hourly care, on the other hand, is flexible and available in blocks (minimum of four hours), perfect for families who need help at certain times of the day.

At Home Care Assistance, we understand that each family is unique, and we'll work with you to find the right option for your loved one.

Our Story

It’s our desire to extend a gracious and all inclusive “Welcome” to anyone who has the responsibility of care for an aging parent, family member or friend. Welcome to Home Care Assistance – The 1st franchise to open in Barrie and Simcoe County. We are Domenic Maccarone and Deborah Vollett. Domenic’s past in Sales and Marketing and Deborah’s in Nursing and Pharmacy in Healthcare bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in “Changing the Way the World Ages”

Sharing the same disappointing challenges with other home care services for our parents as with the Founders of Home Care Assistance, James and Kathy Johnson, a pair of Psychologists from California, we realized there must be a better way to help the Elderly live happier, healthier lives in their own homes. We found this through Home Care Assistance.

Here, we believe in offering a concierge non-medical service embracing a positive and balanced approach to aging centered on the evolving needs of older adults. We provide a high caliber of Care Givers, employ empathetic and responsive staff while covering all the activities of daily living for your loved one.

Perhaps you or someone you know are having the same challenges and stressful times with a mother or father’s evolving needs. Taking the next step is an emotional and important one. We are here to help.
