🍁RCCSS🍁

This weekend was the annual RCCSS Eastern Canada Conference - Optimizing Human Performance and Longevity. It was arguably our best conference yet.

It last night was the 40th anniversary gala and it was a very special event to be a part of. It made me recognize where our profession has started in contrast to where it is now. I am thankful for the legends in sports chiropractic in Canada that have opened the doors for me. It left me feeling inspired to drive sports chiropractic forward for those who will come behind me.

I was also recognized for 5 years of service as a sports specialist chiropractor. Where does the time go?

That's a wrap on Freestyle Skiing at the 2023 Canada Winter Games. Congratulations to all of the athletes!

It was great to meet so many talented young athletes and dedicated coaches.

I can't wait to work with this sport again.

Our short span living the van life!⠀

A lot of people have been asking to see the photos of our camper van that we rented for touring around Vancouver Island. This is probably because I have been hyping it up so much. I loved the van life during our vacation. so much so that I was on kijiji looking at sprinter vans that we could overhaul to take on road trips from home. If you haven't had the opportunity to travel in a camper van I totally recommend it. it gives you the freedom to drive in cities and remote getaways. But is also provides a safe, dry spot to sleep at night (which can be helpful on rainy trips). Plus there is way more storage than you would think.⠀

Have you tried living the van life?⠀

A couple weekends ago, and I had the pleasure of sharing one of our hobbies with some great friends. We hiked the Caledon Hills end-to-end over the Saturday and Sunday. We hiked over 70km and raised over $2000 for Greenpeace in the process. Now that my aches and pains have settled down, I'm looking to the next section already.⠀

Still catching up from old photos...⠀

September 18th was our travel day from Port Renfrew to Tofino. We decided to take the scenic route to see some more old growth forests, including Cathedral Grove. On the plus side we got to experience some of these living giants (some are up to 800 years old!!). But on the downside we also got to see what logging has done to a lot of the island interior. Now less than 10% of the original old growth forests remain and we need to do everything we can to save them. We also drove through some of the protests to protect the Fairy Creek old growth forests from logging companies. My best wishes are with this people as they do everything they can to protect these sacred forests.⠀
