Work-life balance is a lie.

Not a mean thing to say. A true thing to say.

Because I've watched so many brilliant women feel like failures not because they're doing something wrong, but because they're chasing something that doesn't exist.
Balance implies stillness. A fixed center point you find and hold.

But think about a yoga pose. You're never actually still. Your body is constantly swaying, adjusting, sensing where it is in space. That's not imbalance that's proprioception.

That's life.

Some seasons your work needs more. Some seasons your family does. Some weeks your body comes first and some weeks a deadline does.

That's not failure.

What we're actually looking for is harmony. The kind where you can be fully present in what's in front of you without the guilt of everything you're not doing pulling you away from it.
Harmony creates ease. Balance just creates another standard to fall short of.

Spring is arriving and with it a little fresh energy in the studio.

Here is this week’s schedule at Still Shores. A gentle reminder that there will be no classes Thursday or Sunday this week as I’ll be away for appointments.

The rest of the week is here for you to stretch, breathe, and take a moment for yourself as the seasons begin to shift.

They want ease.

And when I ask them what that actually means they don't describe a lighter schedule.

They describe waking up without that hum of dread already running. Making a decision and trusting it. Being somewhere and actually being there.

That's not a time management problem. That's a nervous system that hasn't felt safe enough to stop bracing.

Ease isn't earned after everything is handled. It's a state your body can live in right now when it's finally given permission to exhale.

That's what we're doing on March 24th.

Join our Women’s Circle Thursday at 6pm.

The intention of the circle is to create a meaningful gathering rooted in presence and connection. It’s a space where women come together to slow down, share honestly, and be witnessed without needing to fix or solve anything. There is something deeply regulating about sitting in circle and remembering we don’t have to carry everything alone.

Meet Misty Lucas – Misty Lucas Wellness one of our GOLD SPONSORS. After years in high-pressure environments and navigating burnout and chronic stress firsthand, Misty built her work around one core truth: real change happens when the nervous system feels safe. Misty Lucas Wellness is a somatic-based coaching and healing practice supporting women who hold a lot, lead a lot, and are ready to move out of survival mode. Through nervous system regulation, somatic coaching, and embodied practices, she helps women reconnect to themselves and build sustainable well-being.
