St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation

St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation

Our very active registered charity has been raising funds in support of the equipment needs of the St Francis Memorial Hospital since 2001. Recently, the Foundation has enhanced its scope to include fundraising for all of the non profit healthcare organizations, including the MV Hospice Palliative Care program and the Valley Manor Nursing Home. Our goal is to create an opportunity for the donors of the Madawaska Valley and area to advance healthcare by ensuring support for equipment and facility needs through the efforts of one fundraising organization. The SFVH Foundation will work in partnership with the three organizations to inclusively fundraise based on long term plans for the healthcare needs of the community. The Foundation is closely connected with our community and receives strong support from individuals and organizations throughout our healthcare catchment area.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Lillian Skuce of Barry’s Bay is sure feeling the love - but she never expected to win when she picked up her Week 21 Catch the Ace. She simply wanted an easy way to give back to local healthcare.

When her phone rang, she didn’t recognize the number and ignored it - at first. But when it rang again, she decided to answer - and was glad she did!

Earlier in the week, Lillian had bought her ticket at Lorraine’s Pharmacy and picked number 50 because it jumped out at her. That envelope revealed the seven of diamonds, earning her the weekly prize of $1,518.

She plans to save the winnings for an upcoming home repair.

Lillian also has a personal connection to St. Francis Memorial Hospital, where she spent 30 years working as an RPN. She has been retired for around 10 years.

Catch the Ace is a fundraising initiative of the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation. Net proceeds provide local healthcare partners with essential medical equipment and services, helping ensure care stays close to home when it’s needed most.

Be sure to get your ticket for the Week 22 draw, where the estimated prize is $1,600, and the progressive jackpot is sitting around $38,793. Find the Ace of Spades and win both - for a total prize of around $40,393.

Congratulations to Lindsay Greene, an RN at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, who was nominated for her very first Guardian Angel pin.

Lindsay was nominated by Mara Lauris, a grateful patient who spent some time in the hospital’s emergency department before Christmas.

“Having been in the ER for a few days, I could observe your interactions with other patients and colleagues and think you are an exemplary nurse,” Mara said.

The Guardian Angel program allows you the opportunity to show your appreciation for exceptional and compassionate care in a meaningful way that helps us change and save lives by ensuring our caregivers have the equipment and facilities they need to provide you with the best possible care.

It was Joanne Yeretch's time to shine after her ticket was pulled in the Week 20 draw!

Joanne, of Barry's Bay, selected Envelope #37 - a number that simply called out to her on the board. Inside was the Six of Spades, earning her the weekly prize of $1,344!

While she has no immediate plans for the winnings, Joanne says the money will definitely be put to good use.

This win has been a long time coming. Joanne has faithfully purchased Catch the Ace tickets for years, supporting local healthcare with every ticket along the way.
