A local family has found a meaningful way to honour their parents while giving back to the care that supported them most.
Sisters Teresa Yaraskavitch, Marilyn O’Reilly, and Elaine Hudder recently helped install two commemorative plaques at St. Francis Memorial Hospital - one on the new In Memory Mural and another as part of the Landscape of Life.
The Landscape of Life plaque was created in memory of their father, Thomas O’Reilly, and also included their mother, Veronica. Following her passing, the family added the date she died, ensuring both parents are remembered together.
Wanting to do even more, the family later secured a place on the In Memory Mural through additional In Memory donations, dedicating it in both of their parents’ names.
Their connection to local healthcare runs deep. Both of their parents received care at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, and their mother spent her final days in hospice.
The family remains deeply grateful for the compassion and support she received during that time.
For them, these tributes are not only a way to honour their parents, but also a reflection of their appreciation for local healthcare.
They say they are proud to have such vital services close to home - care that makes a difference during life’s most difficult moments.
The In Memory Mural at St. Francis Memorial Hospital offers families a lasting and meaningful way to celebrate loved ones while supporting care within the community. Contributions help ensure caregivers have the tools they need, when they are needed most.
