Sunny Yoga Sunny was first introduced to yoga in 2006 while training to be an officer. But soon it became a passion and she decided to make it a career.

Certified Yoga Instructor with training in Restorative/Yin Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Yoga for Cancer, Trauma/PTSD Yoga, Sound Baths, Chair Yoga, SUP Yoga, Essential Oils, Reiki Practitioner, Vibrational Sound Therapy! It was a great compliment to her rigorous physical routine; to relieve stress and muscle tension. In February 2016, her yoga journey brought her to Yandara Yoga Institute for her RYT 200 in Baja Mexico. It was a spiritual journey which opened her heart and her mind to all things yoga. Since that time she returned to Yandara for further training in Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Advanced Asana, Reiki Practitioner and Bhakti Yoga. As well as having been trained in Yoga for Cancer and Trauma PTSD Yoga. She is also a trained in Vibrational Sound Healing Therapy. Sunny is a Wellness Advocate for DoTerra Essential Oils which she incorporates in a lot of her classes. She believes that life can be lived much more naturally with the help of these amazing therapeutic grade oils, yoga, and energy healing. Sunny offers private and group sessions for yoga, Sound Healing, Reiki, meditation, SUP Yoga and overall wellness. �
Sunny teaches yoga in various locations around Bathurst NB as well as teaching internationally. She hosts Retreats all around the province every summer.

When you go from one place to another, there are multiple ways to get there. Some roads take longer but are more scenic, other paths are direct but typically congested, the speed limit is different, there are stop signs, road blocks, construction, and toll booths. The path to happiness is just like that: people take different roads looking it, and just because someone is not on the same road as you, it doesn't mean they are lost or going the wrong way.

You have chosen your path, they have chosen theirs, and the wheels of the bus go round-and-round, the doors on the bus go open-shut, and the seats on the bus go up-and-down, all through the town...

Remember to smile and wave at each other along the way 🙏

I dislike winter but I do love being in here this time of year. Its truly an oasis.

Retreat weekend #2 this weekend. Which is an excellent start to 2026. At this point I have hosted over 20 overnight retreats and many day retreats. I have figured out what works to ensure my guest are happy and the experience exceeds their expectations. Teaching the yoga is the easy part, its the rest of the weekend that is important to make sure the clients are happy. I am grateful for my years of restaurant experience and customer service to make these events top notch.

Most people think anxiety is just worry or nervousness.
Something you can “snap out of.”
Something you can calm down from if you just think positively.

But anxiety is far more complex—and far more exhausting.

Anxiety lives in the body, not just the mind.
It shows up as racing thoughts, trouble concentrating, poor sleep, loss of appetite, restlessness, irritability, guilt, shame, avoidance, and a constant feeling of being “on edge.”
It can even feel physical—tight chest, upset stomach, headaches, fatigue.

Why anxiety happens

Anxiety isn’t weakness.
It’s the nervous system stuck in survival mode.

It often comes from: • chronic stress
• unresolved trauma
• emotional suppression
• lack of safety or rest
• constant overstimulation
• perfectionism and self-pressure
• living disconnected from the body

Your system is trying to protect you—just at the wrong volume.

The truth many don’t hear

Anxiety doesn’t mean something is wrong with you.
It means something inside you has been overloaded for too long.

How to work with anxiety (not fight it)

You don’t heal anxiety by arguing with it.
You heal it by regulating the nervous system.

🌿 Slow the body first
Deep breathing, gentle movement, time in nature—calm the body so the mind can follow.

🌿 Reduce stimulation
Less scrolling. Less noise. Less urgency. Your nervous system needs quiet to reset.

🌿 Allow the feeling
Resistance strengthens anxiety. Naming it softly—“I’m anxious right now”—often reduces its grip.

🌿 Ground in the present
Anxiety lives in imagined futures. Gently return to what is happening now.

🌿 Practice compassion, not control
Shame fuels anxiety. Kindness disarms it.

🌿 Seek support
Sometimes the body needs help relearning safety—therapy, mindfulness, or somatic practices matter.

From a mindful perspective

Anxiety loosens when we stop trying to eliminate it and start listening to what it’s asking for:
rest, safety, presence, and care.

You don’t “let go” of anxiety by force.
You let it go by creating the conditions where it no longer has to scream.

If this resonated, know this:
You are not broken.
Your system is asking to be heard.
