πŸ‘‚ Not all hearing aids are the same

Every hearing aid is a little different. Size, shape, features, and how they are cared for can vary more than most people expect.

In this video, Alissa is cleaning a smaller Oticon hearing aid. Even though it is compact, it still needs regular care to keep it performing at its best.

Routine cleaning helps:

βœ” Maintain sound quality

βœ” Prevent buildup from moisture and debris

βœ” Extend the life of your device

If your hearing aids need a little attention, we are always here to help.

πŸ‘‚ Small Hearing Aid. Powerful Technology.

New hearing technology continues to improve how people experience sound. Devices like **Oticon Zeal** are designed to address some of the common limitations of smaller in ear hearing aids while still keeping a discreet, comfortable design.

What makes newer devices different?

βœ” Advanced sound processing that helps speech stand out

βœ” Improved clarity in busy environments

βœ” Compact designs that remain comfortable and subtle

When new technology enters the market, we take the time to evaluate it carefully. Our goal is always the same. Making sure any technology we recommend supports real world hearing and long term hearing health.

Curious about what modern hearing technology can do?

πŸ‘‚ Healthy aging is about more than staying active. It is also about staying connected.

One of the most overlooked barriers to healthy aging in Canada is access to hearing healthcare. Hearing changes can affect communication, confidence, independence, and social connection. Social isolation is already a growing concern among older Canadians, and untreated hearing loss can make that even harder. Canada’s own healthy aging and seniors reports also point to hearing and communication access as important parts of ageing well.

The good news is that hearing care is something people can act on. A hearing test is a simple first step that can help protect connection, quality of life, and long term well-being.

🎧 Is Your Favourite Playlist a Workout for Your Brain?

Music does more than fill the room. It activates multiple parts of your brain at once. Memory. Emotion. Attention. Even movement.

That is why music often brings back vivid memories or instantly changes how we feel.

When hearing becomes harder, many people start missing the details in music without realizing it. The instruments blend together. Lyrics become harder to catch. The experience just is not the same.

Keeping your hearing healthy helps your brain stay connected to those sounds that matter.

We are curious:

🎢 What is one song you could never live without?

In many workplaces, noise exposure is simply part of the job. Over time, that exposure can lead to permanent hearing loss if the right protections are not in place.

Protecting hearing at work can include:

βœ” Understanding safe noise levels

βœ” Providing proper hearing protection

βœ” Regular hearing checks for employees

βœ” Education on long term hearing health

If you are unsure where to start, we are happy to help. We can provide guidance for your team in person, by phone, or by email.

Workplace hearing safety protects not just hearing, but communication, awareness, and long term health.

πŸ§ πŸ‘‚ Hearing Health and Brain Health Are Connected

Research has shown that untreated hearing loss is linked to a higher risk of cognitive decline and dementia. When hearing becomes harder, the brain has to work overtime just to understand sound. Over time, that extra effort can take energy away from memory and thinking.

The encouraging news is that hearing loss is one of the **most manageable risk factors** connected to cognitive health.

A hearing test is simple, painless, and gives you a clear picture of how your hearing is working today. Many people start with a baseline test so they have something to measure against later in life.

Your hearing supports your conversations, your relationships, and your brain.

🎢 Hosting an Event? Protect Your Audience’s Hearing

Did you know over **1 billion young people worldwide are at risk of hearing loss** due to unsafe listening environments?

Whether it is a concert, community event, or celebration, small steps can make a big difference in protecting hearing.

Here are 3 things event organizers should consider:

βœ” **Manage volume levels**

Keeping sound within safe ranges helps prevent long term hearing damage.

βœ” **Create quiet spaces**

Give people a place to step away from the noise and let their ears rest.

βœ” **Encourage hearing protection**

Earplugs can reduce risk while still allowing people to enjoy the music and atmosphere.

Safe listening does not take away from the energy of an event. It helps ensure everyone can enjoy the experience without harming their hearing.

πŸ‘‚ Meet Bob

Bob is a true Albertan. He loves winter. The snow. The crisp air. The quiet.

But like most of us, he really loves it when spring arrives. Getting back into his garden. Feeling that limited Alberta sunshine. Hearing the birds chirp while he works the soil.

This past winter, Bob started noticing something. A little buzzing in his ears. Saying β€œwhat?” more often. Missing parts of conversations.

He told himself he would be fine. Bob has lived through combat. He figured he could live with a little ringing.

Until he thought about spring.

He thought about those birds in the morning. The sound that marks the start of another season. The joy he feels in his garden.

And that is what brought Bob in.

After his visit, Bob heard his birds chirp clearly again. That alone made it worth it.

Be a Bob this spring. Do not miss the moments that matter.
