๐ŸŒง๏ธ Some weekends just feel heavy.

This oneโ€™s been tough โ€” one of those where everything feels off, where sadness lingers a little too long, and where Iโ€™ve had to accept that sometimes things just donโ€™t work out the way I hoped they would.

But in the middle of the frustration, disappointment, and tearsโ€ฆ I keep coming back to this truth:
๐Ÿ’ซ I am stronger than I feel right now.

Not everything is meant to be โ€” and thatโ€™s okay.
Maybe the universe is clearing space for something better, something more aligned, something I canโ€™t see yet.

So Iโ€™m choosing to stop looking back.
To stop holding on to whatโ€™s not meant for me.
And to start trusting that what is meant for me will find its way โ€” in its own time.

If youโ€™re going through something similar, please know:
Youโ€™re allowed to feel sad.

๐ŸŒฟโœจ I am so grateful for the chance to apply for this scholarship through . This scholarship would allow me to continue in the Comprehensive Holistic Nurse, Nurse Coach & Consultant Certificate Program, which is designed to train nurses to bring truly whole-person care to their communities.

This program goes beyond traditional nursing. It weaves together science, coaching, and holistic approachesโ€”helping us learn how to support clients in healing physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. As someone with a background in mental health nursing and yoga therapy, this feels like the missing piece to bring it all together.

Iโ€™m so excited about this program because itโ€™s not just about professional developmentโ€”itโ€™s about answering a calling. Beaumont, the community I live in, doesnโ€™t even have a physician right now. I know the skills I am learning here will allow me to fill a gap, offering care that empowers people to understand themselves more deeply, regulate their nervous systems, and make lasting changes in their health and wellness.

Hereโ€™s the science:
When you feel overwhelmed or drained, your nervous system might be in a state of dorsal vagal shutdownโ€”a freeze or shutdown response that says, โ€œI canโ€™t do more right now.โ€

One of the best things you can do?
Create a cocoon of safety and comfort.
This signals to your vagus nerve (the highway of your parasympathetic nervous system) that itโ€™s okay to rest, soften, and come back to regulation.

This morning I unrolled my mat while camping, nestled between trees and the smell of coffee and campfire. While breakfast was sizzling, I took 15 minutes to breathe, move, and reset.

โœจThatโ€™s the thing about yoga for your nervous system โ€” it doesnโ€™t require a studio or silence. It just needs you.
A few slow breaths. A gentle stretch. A moment of presence.
Your body knows what to do when you give it space to feel safe again.

Whether youโ€™re on a mountain, at a lake, or in your kitchen โ€” your nervous system loves when you pause and reconnect.
Yoga isnโ€™t about fancy poses. Itโ€™s about coming home to yourself.

I used to feel like my body was always betraying me.
Tight chest. Racing thoughts. Sleepless nights.
Iโ€™d think, โ€œWhy canโ€™t I just calm down?โ€ or โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong with me?โ€

But the truth isโ€ฆ
My body wasnโ€™t broken.
It was speaking to me.

โœจ It was overwhelmed.
โœจ It was trying to protect me.
โœจ It was asking me to slow down and listen.

Learning to feel safe in my body โ€” instead of trying to โ€œfixโ€ it โ€” changed everything.
Now, I teach others how to do the same.
