ALL of Health Mutts free range products are hormone, steroid, and antibiotic free. All sourced from Martock Glen Farm (formally known as Oulton's Meats) in Windsor N.S. Our Nük line is all restaurant quality, from Armstrong Pork, Atlantic Beef and Eden Valley Chicken. Come see us around lunch time and you’ll see us bbqing up the same meats before they hit our production line! Now that’s a challenge for raw food manufacturers! Pet owners need to be savvy shoppers, comparing prices is great but it's the quality you need to really do your homework on, you get what you pay for. Human grade, grass fed and other terminology can be deceiving, be sure to ask where the materials come from and compare those prices to meats sold for human consumption like those at your farmers market or grocery store, then you can get a better understanding of the quality being sold to you for your pet.

“Minimally processed” gets used a lot - but what does it actually mean? 💭

From a nutritional perspective, minimal processing refers to food that stays as close to its original, whole-ingredient form as possible. Less heat, less pressure, and fewer manufacturing steps help preserve naturally occurring proteins, fats, and micronutrients - rather than destroying them and adding them back later.

At Health Mutts, our raw and freeze-dried foods avoid high-temperature extrusion or “puffing” (a high-heat, high-pressure manufacturing process used to make most dry kibble) and pressure-cooking. Freeze-drying gently removes moisture while maintaining nutrient integrity, and our products are produced in small batches using whole ingredients you can recognize.

Less processing means less reconstruction, better digestibility, and nutrition that works with the body instead of around it. 🫶

Our team isn’t bound by secrecy clauses. There’s no hidden sourcing, no vague production stories, and no “behind-the-scenes” we can’t talk about. Our (current and former) staff knows where our ingredients come from, how our food is made, and why we do it this way - and so can you.

We produce in-house, in small batches, with an open kitchen door policy. You don’t need an appointment, a tour, or a perfectly timed visit. You can simply walk in and see for yourself.

We also offer free feeding consultations. No sales pitch. Just honest guidance.
