As the days grow shorter, mother nature invites us to rest. 🍵
But in a culture that glorifies productivity, slowing down can feel like resistance. It’s not. It’s wisdom. This season teaches us the importance of gathering energy, nourishing ourselves, and preparing for the winter ahead.
For me, that looks like yummy stews, long walks, journaling by candlelight, and listening to what my body actually needs instead of pushing through. The truth is: rest is not a reward — it’s a requirement for growth.
This was a hard lesson for me to learn. I used to feel physically uncomfortable and so guilty for taking time to rest. When a roommate or family member would walk through the door I would jump up and "be productive" even though I was exhausted. If this sounds like you too, I can help. Let's let go of the guilt and belief that rest=laziness, and honor what YOU need.
