🎄 This holiday season, here are a few gentle reminders

The holiday season can bring a mix of emotions- joy, longing, heaviness, and everything in between. If this time of year feels different- quieter, heavier, or more tender, please know this: you don’t have to force yourself to feel festive or “keep up.”

At Hospice Quinte, we understand how complex this season can be, and we want to offer gentle reminders from our hearts to yours.

💛 It’s enough to simply get through the day.
You don’t have to meet expectations, follow traditions, or put on a brave face. Your emotions- whatever they are- are valid, and you are allowed to move at your own pace.

Please be kind to yourself. Take moments of rest when you need them and know that whatever you’re feeling doesn’t make you fragile- it makes you human. You are seen, you are valued, and you are not alone this season.

We wish you a warm and gentle holiday season. Hospice Quinte offers free Grief & Bereavement support for those caring for someone with a life-limiting illness or grieving a loss within the past three years. Programs will resume in the new year, and we are here for you every step of the way.

🎄 An Advent of Care 🎄

As the holiday season draws near, we’re mindful that this time of year can feel tender. For some, they are filled with warmth and tradition. For others, they carry quiet moments of longing, remembrance, or grief.

Beginning tomorrow, Hospice Quinte will be sharing 5 gentle reminders and meaningful acts meant to show that care doesn’t pause for the holidays, and neither does compassion.

Wishing you presence and peace in the days ahead. ❤️

🖊️ Finding Comfort Through Journaling

When grief feels overwhelming, journaling allows us to gently process emotions and create room for hope and healing. It’s a personal sanctuary where you can honestly explore your feelings, express your thoughts freely, and begin to untangle the heaviness inside. Each entry becomes a step toward acceptance, resilience, and finding light even in difficult times.

We invite you to join our monthly Bullet Journaling Group, a gentle and supportive environment where we’ll come together to:

✨ Explore meaningful journaling prompts
✨ Create space to share and connect
✨ Learn simple strategies to cope with grief

No writing experience is needed—just bring your heart, an open mind, and a gentle willingness to explore. Whether this is your first time journaling or you’re seeking a caring community to share your journey, you’re warmly welcome here.

📅 Second Tuesday of every month
🕙 10:00–11:30 a.m.
📍 Stan Klemencic Care Centre, 1244 Old Highway #2, Belleville

A Gentle Space for young Hearts to Heal 🧡

Losing someone important is difficult at any age. Hospice Quinte’s Youth Grief Support Group offers a safe, caring, and age-appropriate space for youth ages 11–15 who have experienced the expected death of someone close to them.

Throughout the program, youth will explore their emotions in a safe and supportive way, learn gentle coping tools to help navigate difficult moments, and connect with peers who truly understand what they’re going through. They’ll gain confidence, feel less alone, and learn how to express their grief in ways that feel comfortable and natural for them.

Guided by trained facilitators, each session offers a thoughtful blend of learning, reflection, and connection.

📅 Begins Wednesday, February 4th (runs weekly for six weeks)
4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Stan Klemencic Care Centre | 1244 Old Hwy 2
A 45-minute dinner is provided at the start of each session

✨ Pre-registration is required.
To register or for more information, please contact Shelley Haggarty at

If you know a youth who may benefit from this support, please reach out or share this message. Together, we can help them carry their memories forward with strength and peace.

We gratefully acknowledge the generous support of the Alva Foundation, which helps make this program possible.
