The Hermit Witch

The Hermit Witch I love the world of Tarot and have my own personal twist when doing in-person readings. The cards offer guidance to help us look at what is already inside us.

I don't think they tell the future, but can give us perspective and direction.

December 8, 2025

We are starting this week off with a Vision of Joy and Abundace with the Ace of Cups. The original tarot card depicts heavy Christian symbolism of the grail, overflowing and the eucharist held by a dove. And for all those scared of tarot or calling it evil, guess what, its origins are heavily Christian.

With the hat, I Imagine a magicians tophat that is bigger on the inside cuz how else does the Magician keep pulling more things out of it!?

What we want to look for this week are new opportunities to share or deepen things such as joy, gratitude, inspiration, and intimacy. The spreading of peace and love is what this card embodies for me. When I see this card it invokes the phrase "my cup runneth over"

This doesn't necessarily mean you have to start new projects or relationships. But begin to focus on what does already bring you joy, love and gratitude in your life and lean into it. Who do you love dearly that could benefit from you giving the relationship between you both more focus and attention?

What gives you life? It's time to share it and multiply it.

December 5, 2025

The Japanese folktale, The Crane Wife, is representing the Three of Swords as our Fairytale Friday lesson this week. It is about a man who saves an injured crane. To repay him, a woman appears at his door and marries him. She weaves beautiful, expensive cloth to support them, but only if he promises not to watch her work. Driven by curiosity or greed, he breaks his promise and discovers she is the crane, plucking her own feathers to make the fabric, which causes her to weaken. Exposed, she transforms back into a crane and flies away, leaving him with his regret.

The Three of Swords represents the heartbreak and pain that comes with betrayal, conflict, or failure. Especially concerning romantic relationships, though not exclusively. For this week it could apply to ourselves when we have our own set-backs on the road towards the goals we have given ourselves this week.

This card wants to let us know, it's okay to feel pain and sorrow and whatever other hard feelings you have when things go wrong. But also there is room in these experiences for learning, healing, and growing.

It's important to acknowledge what happened and how it made you feel, but you can not stay in that space, so remember to learn from it, forgive, and move on to the next stage in your life.

December 4, 2025

And our Healing card is the Eight of Pentacles, bringing us the message of diligence, patience, and perseverance.

Traditionally this card shows an apprentice hard at work, honing his skills, perfecting his craft. And he is nearly done his work, feeling a sense of accomplishment.  In the Wonderland deck here, it looks like our fellow is getting ready for a feast of oysters, which I guess also takes a certain amount of patience and perseverance. 😆

Whatever the goals you have set yourself for this week (or longer), they are going to take hard work and focus. They are going to take will power and stamina. And this card is your cheerleader, saying you can do it and you will feel so good once you have achieved it.

It's all going to pay off. So have faith in yourself.

December 3, 2025

The Manifestation card this week is the Two of Wands. Telling us that we may have to leave a comfort zone to find that stability and security we want. I know, it seems illogical in some way, but it will make sense.

You've gotten to a place where you are comfortable right now. You've gained all you can with the way you live your life now. It's good, your doing great! But now you have to plan for your future and sustained security and success. This is going to require you to seek out more knowledge and experiences and make more changes along the way.

And this can seem scary, going into the unknown when you know for now, you could just stick to what your doing and be comfortable for now, and maybe just not think about future plans. But that fear and lack of planning could put you in a tight spot and you will find yourself caught off guard down the road.

This card really encourages you to consider and combine the traits of the first two drawn this week. Plan Your Adventure, and go forth with Courage and Excitement!

December 2, 2025

Our Power this week is with the Knight of Wands. He's the Knight of adventure and passion. Ready to jump into a new challenge or rush to the rescue without a second thought. Yet another card with two sides this week. Be willing to take on a challenge, but beware of being too reckless or hasty.

If this weeks Vision is to find security and stability then this Knight is the one to help you find the challenges and goals you want to set and take them on as he would. An exciting epic mission to go on! Or an amazing challenge to overcome!

The first images I saw when I drew this card was the training montage scene from Rocky and Bruce Lee practicing Martial Arts. That's the energy you can take on when you move towards your goals this week. These guys took on strict training practices and stuck to them to achieve great things. And you can too, with passion and vigor!

December 1, 2025

We start this week, and this month, off with the Vision of the Four of Pentacles. It looks like the collective is yearning for some stability and security. Maybe even some financial success.

This card can have two sides to it. There is a message of stability if you can stick to rules and guidelines you've given yourself to follow. There is monetary success and security if you save religiously instead of spending frivolously. But there is a line you can cross if you take it all too far.

When does sticking to the rules and guidelines become being overly strict or rigid in your routines and thinking? When does strict saving turn into greed or being stingy? There is a balance or a middle ground to be found here when we are creating our Vision this week.

A four, as with this card, is an even number, so imagine balance. Think of the four corners of a square. Create a sturdy frame to begin your work with, but you can add to it and take away as you need it to change. Also, don't make it a closed off space where nothing can get in or out. Maybe your square frame is a fence with a gate in it so you don't completely isolate yourself.

November 28, 2025

Our Fairytale Friday card this week brings us Hah-Nu-Nah, or the world turtle from the Iroquois creation story. According to this story, the entire world rides on the sturdy back of a giant turtle. To this day, North America is still referred to as Turle Island in many Indigenous circles.

As the King of Pentacles Hah-Nu-Nah is reminding us that we are all connected and part of the earth. And it is a sturdy and abundant connection. We just have to remember this, and we can manifest what we need to survive and thrive!

With this week's message of true and authentic self-expression remember that you are part of the earth, the universe! You are made of stardust and part of a vast expanse of wonders. Be proud of this and aware that being yourself to the fullest is the purest way to express and experience your connection to the earth.

November 27, 2025

As the week began with the Sun card it is only fitting that the Healing card for this medicine wheel is the Queen of Wands (the traditional card has sunflowers on it, representing the energy of the sun card).

The Queen of Wands is the embodiment of being one's authentic self. She is Charismatic and Magnetic. She is the host and the life of the party. A leader and a role model. She doesn't let other people's judgements, opinions, or superstitions get her down or second guess herself.

This wheel is doubling down on the message of being your authentic self. The whole world will open up in front of you if you move forward with eagerness, excitement and curiosity for what is next instead of living in fear of what people will say or do in response to you expressing yourself.

You do you. Every single moment.

November 26, 2025

If we embody the powers of yesterday's card, the King of Swords, then we will be able to bring about the Manifestation of the Page of Pentacles. He is the kind of guy that brings new opportunities and abundance. When he shows up, he is full of curiosity, and a willingness for learning and adventure.

If you are being your full authentic self and taking the time to make the right choices and hold the boundaries you need, then whatever is in this moment right now is what will hold your attention, curiosity, and gratitude.

You will discover that life is about the process and not the outcome. You will find it's about what we learn on the journey rather than getting to a specific destination. If you can hold that type of mindset then your whole world will be full of opportunities.

November 25, 2025

Our Power card for this week's medicine wheel is the King of Swords. The depiction of this King in the Wonderland deck looks like a pretty cool, calm, and collected character. And you are being asked to embody him this week.

Having a high intellect and the ability to think with clarity, he makes decisions based on logic with clear morals and ethics that serve with fairness for all.

As you strive to be your full authentic self this week be aware that you will have to set boundaries with some people. Make sure they are fair. But also don't let them sway you with emotions and guilt trips. You still have to do what is right for you. Fairness applies to your needs too when you are judging what is best for all.

Remember to give yourself time to think things through. Reacting in the moment is often based on impulse and emotions. You are allowed to tell people you need a moment to think about it. You have the time. And they can have the patience.

November 24, 2025

We are starting this week's medicine wheel off with a big bright spot of positivity with The Sun as our Vision.

Have you been living authentically? Have you been embracing who you are and celebrating everything you have achieved so far? If not, then do it right now! It doesn't have to be big to be significant to you. Happiness is all around you if you allow it to be.

What do you do simply because it is what you love, want or need? No other external factors or requirements giving you permission to do what is right for you alone. This isn't about self-care, or healing, or resting up so you can go forth and work some more.

This is about embodying who you are 24/7 with no apologies for taking up space. Let your light shine and follow your happiness!

November 21, 2025

The story of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, recounts a vow to liberate all beings from suffering, leading to the shattering of his body when he became discouraged by the immense scale of suffering. His vow was that his body would break into a thousand pieces if he became disheartened. The Buddha Amitabha then miraculously restored him, transforming the thousand pieces into a powerful form with a thousand arms and eleven heads, symbolizing his ability to perceive and respond to suffering everywhere at once.  As Buddhism moved to China, this same Bodhisattva became known as Guanyin, taking on a female presence and developed many of her own amazing stories.

With the Bodhisattva of Compassion embodying the card of Temperance in this week's Fairytale Friday lesson. We are being asked to find the middle ground while dealing with difficult issues this week. Balance and moderation is key when you decide on things right now.

And if you find yourself in conflict with someone, realize that you may both be reacting from a place of suffering. A very human and all too common thing. Find the root of why anyone, including yourself, may be acting out in an extreme manner. And bring it all to a place of common ground.

Nobody wants to suffer. And we all have the ability to bring healing to each other.
