Wednesday nights at The Pulse ✨️

A great way to have a mid-week stress relief exercise added to your weekly routine.

To help decrease your cortisol and adrenaline levels. The primary hormones that are involved in your "fight or flight" stress response.

Releasing endorphins, the natural brain chemicals that enhances your mood, reduce pain, and creates that sense of happiness, which is often called "runners high".

Are you afraid to start or don't know where to start, when it comes to making your physical health, a priority?

The Pulse is the perfect place to START!

The Pulse has you in mind when it comes to our low-impact workouts. With our Doctor-designed SmartCardio workouts, it's designed to help make breathing easier, and for better endurance.

Why is that important? Ask yourself this:

Do you ever go for a walk or walk upstairs, and within 5-10 minutes you're breathing heavy, having a hard time catching your breath, you start walking slower if not stopping completely?

That's because your heart muscles are working harder to pump the blood through your body while you're walking/walking upstairs.

The program is designed to help expand your lung capacity and oxygen efficiency, through our Control Point, rower, ski, and bike exercises while using the Pulse Tech or Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) to match the effort to your ability. Making walking/walking upstairs, running after the kids/grandkids, carrying groceries much easier. Feeling capable and not limited.

You CAN do more before getting tired!

And if that's something you want to improve on, The Pulse Pros are here to help get you started today!

VO2 max has predicted lifespan for 40 years — most people just found out last Tuesday

Garmin is tracking it. Whoop is tracking it. Andrew Huberman is talking about it. Your Apple Watch might even be estimating it.

And if you're like most people, you're seeing the number — and having no idea what to actually do with it.

Here's what I want you to understand though.

This isn't a trend.

VO2 max has been the most closely watched marker in elite human performance for decades. Olympic coaches, military special forces, professional sports programs — they've been tracking and deliberately building aerobic capacity since before most of us had fitness watches.

What's new isn't the science. The science has been settled for a long time.

What's new is that it's finally reached the mainstream. After years of living inside high performance labs and elite coaching circles, the general population is suddenly being told what the best performers in the world have always known:

Your aerobic capacity is one of the strongest predictors of how long you live — and more importantly, how well you live in the decades ahead.

Not your weight. Not your cholesterol. Not your steps per day.

Your VO2 max.

It drops roughly 10% per decade after 30. Silently. Consistently. Regardless of whether you think you're active or not.

And here's the part that almost nobody is talking about yet — most cardio doesn't actually build it.

Running hard doesn't build it. Spin class doesn't build it. Closing your Apple Watch rings doesn't build it.

What builds it is specific. Intentional. Measured.

What we've coined — SmartCardio™ and is exactly what we've been doing at Pulse since day one.

We didn't build SmartCardio™ because VO2 max became a trending topic. We built it because the research has always been clear — and we wanted to give everyday people access to the same structured aerobic development that high performers have had for years.

Eight sessions. Twenty-eight days.

Longevity Cardio Protocol™.

Calories at a fixed heart rate tracked session by session so you can see your aerobic capacity actually moving — not estimated by an algorithm, but measured in real time under coaching.

The mainstream just discovered what we've been building.

If you've been meaning to start and haven't pulled the trigger yet — this is the moment.

Why are low-impact workouts beneficial?

These are the workouts that at any fitness level, especially beginners, seniors, or even those who have joint issues, can benefit from to help maintain muscle mass, and boost your mood through consistent, sustainable activities.

👇🏼The benefits can include:

》Joint Protection -
Like walking or cycling, these activities can help minimize the pressure placed on the joints, to prevent the wear-and-tear injuries.

》Cardiovascular Health -
Can help boost your heart rate, and strengthen your cardiovascular system.

》For all Fitness Levels -
This is great for rehabilitation, someone with arthritis, and even great for someone who is new to fitness and wants to start working out.

》Flexibility and Mobility -
Helps improve your joint mobility and flexibility, making daily tasks easier on your body.

》Boost in your Mental Health -
A great way to help clear your mind from stress, anxiety, and depression with regular, consistent movement.

The Pluse is a great low-impact exercise to incorporate into your workout regimen, especially on recovery days, so you're not overtraining your joints.

At The Pulse, we designed the program with you in mind. And why we use our Pulse Tech, or using your RPE- Rate of Perceived Exertion during our sessions.

But why is it hard to stay with a consistent routine, you ask? 👇🏼

Starting a new workout takes time to build the consistency you're looking for. It could take 1 month, 4 months or more. Depending on how much you show up for you, and overcoming your discomfort.

Our body and minds need time to adapt to new workout routines (the schedule you set for yourself), the new physical stress you put on your body, and the mental habit of getting yourself into the session.

If you stick to the schedule you chose to come into The Pulse (example: Wednesday afternoon, every single week for the next 2 or 3 months) you'll build the momentum and in time, it'll become a habit for building that consistency to keep showing up for your health.
I know some days you might not feel like doing it, but you will leave here feeling energized once you do! (Dopamine is released)

The hard part is overcoming the discomfort on showing up, especially for beginners. But the more you keep to it. The better it gets, and eventually you can make your way to doing resistance training in the Fit Club.

While doing aerobic exercise is great for your heart health, brain function, and longevity. It is important that we fuel our body afterwards, and throughout the day as well, especially with protein, for better results.

Benefits to consuming protein can include:

☆ Muscle protection - provides necessary amino acids to prevent the breakdown and stimulate muscle growth (when consumed before and after workouts, like the Pulse or running)

☆ Faster recovery - helps repair the microscopic damage from the intense endurance training

☆ Reduce muscle soreness - contributes to better muscle adaptation and lower levels of soreness

Timing is also key...

Consuming 20-30g of high-quality protein within 60-120 minutes before or after your exercise is highly effective for recovery 👍🏻

Things like: whey protein, plant-based options (legumes, nuts, seeds) lean meats and eggs are a great way to get your protein intake!

We'd love to hear, what your favorite post-workout meal is 👇🏼😄
