"And all at once, summer collapsed into fall...."
Oscar Wilde
The word I would use to best describe how I feel about this time of year is 'Bittersweet'. I love the Fall so much except for watching as the wildflowers and weeds and all green and growing things wilt away and disappear until Spring. I have been out collecting the last of the native blooms.Squeezing in any minute of time there is left at this cycle's end so I don't waste a single drop with the valley's Astors, Burdock, Fleabane, Mikweed, Dock, Golden Rod, Thistles, Clover and Wild Grape vines.
Southern Ontario really is a medicinal treasure trove. How lucky we are.
