👁️Key Pre-Test Duties:
• Patient intake & history- Gathering patient’s medical history, recording symptoms, and updating patient information in electronic health records.
• Pre-Screening Tests-Performing basic tests, such as visual acuity, color vision, eye pressure (tonometry), and eye movement coordination.
• Equipment Operation-Operating and maintaining various eye-testing machines, including autorefractors and lensometers, and ensure they are functioning correctly.
• Room & Equipment Preparation-Cleaning and sterilizing examination rooms and equipment, ensuring they are ready for the Optometrist.
• Patient Preparation-Administering eye drops and explaining procedures to the patient before the seeing the Optometrist.
• Diagnostic Testing-Assisting with or performing initial diagnostic tests like visual fields and retinal imaging.
• Patient Flow Management-Moving patients through various stages of pre-testing in an efficient manner until they see the Optometrist.
• Documentation-Accurately documenting all test results and patient interactions.
👁️Education and Requirements:
• CCOA certification or previous Optical experience is preferred but not required as we are willing to train and educate a suitable candidate.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment is essential
