Falkenberg Room, Thomas Collection historical information and exhibits. Botwood Heritage Society Mandate
The Botwood Heritage Society was formed in 1989 with a mandate is to preserve the history of Botwood and interpret it for the benefit of people and the youth of Botwood. Exhibits are built as items of interest from the area and space becomes available. These include:
* Early aviation in Botwood with Sidney Cotton
* Transatlantic flying boats from 1937
* Botwood World War I flying ace exhibit
* Activities during World War II as they affected Botwood
* Paper shipping, logging, boat building and mineral handling
* Antique snowmobiles
The museum displays are open to the public during the summer months and the archives are available by appointment all year. The society consists of volunteers with board members elected annually.
