Training this week was more vehicle extrication. Our firefighters worked on tunneling from the rear of a car and side & roof removal of a pickup truck.
Another good night of problem solving and skilled repetitions!!

Last night was the annual charity game between the Bow Island U15 Rebels and members of your Bow Island Fire Department.
It was a great battle with lots of laughs!
A huge thanks to the four volunteers from the U13 Rebels for providing the officiating!
Thanks to everyone for coming out to cheer on this event and your generous support!! Over $1,000 and a large amount of food were raised for the local Food Bank!
We are proud to serve this community!

This week's practice was spent out in the training compound for some vehicle extrication. Our firefighters worked on full side removal scenarios of a vehicle on its wheels and one upside down.

Practice this week was a wrap up of our search and rescue training. Our firefighters were given real time interior research scenarios under low visibility conditions. This included both victim and firefighter rescues!

Training this week was focused on firefighter rescue. Our crews spent the evening practicing the removal of a downed firefighter from a basement and lifting a downed firefighter from a tight narrow space

This week's training was back to structural search and rescue. Our firefighters spent the evening discussing tactics and running reps for providing interior search from the attack line while short staffed. Training also included removing victims thru a window.

For this week's training, our second group of firefighters was out on the ice for more ice rescue training. The remaining firefighters were back at our hall for some forcible entry training.

For training this week, our firefighters spent the evening out on the ice at the water reservoir practicing ice rescues. Great work everyone!!

Please use caution when heading out on the ice! The recent warm weather can lead to unexpectedly weak ice or open water!!
