This past Saturday, we were honoured to be part of the Trails for Life fundraiser in Port Sydney, a truly exceptional, community-driven event in support of local hospital care across Muskoka.
We extend our sincere thanks to FordNation, Premier of Ontario, Graydon Smith , MPP Muskoka—Parry Sound, and Jill Dunlop, Minister of Emergency Preparedness and Response, for taking the time to attend and engage with participants.
We are deeply grateful to Peter Gilgan and Mattamy Homes Canada for their extraordinary generosity. Their surprise gift of $100,000, shared equally between the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation and the Huntsville Hospital Foundation, is a powerful demonstration of how philanthropy can make a lasting difference for patients and families across our region.
We also thank the event organizers, volunteers, and local snowmobile clubs whose work made the day possible, with particular appreciation to The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs - OFSC, for their leadership and support. We are grateful as well to community partners, including BeaverTails - Queues de Castor and Smokin' Hot BBQ, for keeping everyone fed and warm.
Events like Trails for Life highlight the role community support plays in local hospital care. Because of this collective support, we are better positioned to strengthen compassionate, high-quality care for the people of South Muskoka — today, tomorrow, together.
