Full Moon in Virgo, Full Lunar Eclipse (March 3rd, 2026 6:33 AM EST)
By Mitzi Johnston
Full moons bring us in touch with two conflicting principles and ask us to make them work together in our psyche and our lives. During these times we are presented with an opportunity to come back into balance. What that opportunity is and the place in our lives where it will occur, depends on our individual astrology charts but will be pertinant somewhere for us all no matter our sun sign. This is a full Lunar eclipse so more powerful than a normal full moon. It is happening over the moons South Node, so will be asking us to let go of something, purging, resetting, and restructuring. This one won’t be easy but necessary in making space for something new. As a side note mercury is in retrograde. A phenomena that occurs 3-4 times a year. Never a good time for starting anything new. The usual warnings apply, don’t sign important papers, don’t buy vehicles or electronics. Expect miscommunication and misunderstandings. Don’t overreact without introspection. Anything starting with re usually works, renewing, releasing, removing, remaking, relaxing, ect. Mercury is ruler of this Virgo eclipse so it too can make for a bumpy ride. Mercury retrograde ends March 20th.
With the moon in Virgo and sun in Pisces we are asked to do what we can and then hand it over to a higher power. We aren’t meant to know everything or to fix it. We are supposed to see the beauty in the imperfect and embrace it all. This is the moon to take it all in and stand in non-judgment. It is here that we find heaven on earth.
Virgo see’s what needs fixing; it wants everything to fit perfectly into place. Wherever it is placed in our charts is where we are the perfectionist, the place where we look closely at whatever is in front of us and want it to all to neatly fit in a box we’ve constructed to the proper proportions. Virgo judges everything as either black or white.
Pisces is the dreamer; it sees the impossible, and sees it as possible. Here we expect things to just work out, no action required. Pisces doesn’t care how many shades of gray there are, it is all beautiful. The place in our charts with Pisces on the cusp may be where we give no attention to detail or become spaced out in some way.
Now imagine a world where you see the problems, do what you can, but then let go of what you can’t. A world where no matter what happens, you trust it is working for a higher good. A place where you don’t judge things as good or bad, nor fight against what is. A place where you don’t have to do everything and yet know that it will be ok. An existence without struggle, where everything is as it should be. This is the balance point between Pisces and Virgo, and during this full moon we're being asked to make it work. In this full moon it’s even more vital that we make space for the balance point to reset. Being an eclipse this may take 5-6 months instead of the usual 2 weeks.
It was probably the polarity of Virgo to Pisces that Alcohol Anonymous was founded. The serenity prayer says it all!!
"God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we can, and wisdom to know the difference."
In the body Virgo rules the lower digestive tract, so problems here can be taking in, or doing too much, without taking time to digest it. We all need some down time. Overwork or overload anywhere can cause our systems to back up. Sometimes in overdoing or over-analyzing, we don’t give ourselves time to fully grasp the big picture and so things pass through our lives without being fully absorbed. Pisces rules the feet so issues with them often indicate being stuck or moving ahead without looking where we are going. Issues with our lymphatic system could be asking us to see what brings us joy and love in our lives. Refocus on what really matters!! Our bodies reflect our outer lives perfectly and this is a perfect time to reflect on our health issues and figure it out.
Good ways to use the energy of this full moon and the next 2 weeks are:
1. Making a to do list and then only tackling only one thing at a time.
2. Taking a leap of faith—believing in something that you always wanted to believe in, but were too afraid to put your trust in; doing the work.
3. Accepting imperfections in you and in others as a different kind of "perfection".
4. Consciously putting aside time for peaceful, rejuvenating activities—these can include yoga and meditation, but can be as simple as recognizing your need for "down time" on a regular basis.
5. Practicing putting yourself into another’s shoes, and let some things go (such as judgments, annoyances, and the like)
I hope this finds you living in immense joy, passion and celebration – celebration of the life you so deserve, Mitzi
