In recognition of World Cancer Day, we were proud to see the power of early detection and partnership highlighted today on CITY-TV Toronto.

Rensford DeHaan and Atiqa Mohammad from Movember joined the conversation to raise awareness about prostate cancer and the importance of accessible screening.

Rensford was one of the first participants in The Walnut Foundation’s free PSA screening events at TAIBU Community Health Centre in 2023 — a screening that led to his prostate cancer diagnosis. Since then, he has generously shared his story to help others understand how early detection can save lives, including through national media features and at our recent Prostate Cancer Conference.

Atiqa Mohammad, Director of Implementation at Movember and a member of The Walnut Foundation’s Board of Directors, continues to champion collaborative approaches that advance health equity and improve outcomes for men.

Programs like PSA Detect exist because of partnerships and community leadership — helping more men access screening, take action early, and advocate for their heal
