We’re excited to share some wonderful feedback from our residents about their recent pleasurable dining experience here at Grace Manor!

From mouth-watering ribs to flavourful chicken wraps paired with tasty sides, our residents have been giving lunch a big, delicious thumbs up 👍😄

It’s heartwarming to see how much joy and satisfaction these meals bring — turning everyday moments into something memorable and meaningful.

Great FREE workshops available through PalCare. As a and in partnership with the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario many of our care partners have attended their excellent education sessions.

Navigating Grief During the Holidays
Free Workshop via Zoom

The holiday season can be especially difficult when you’re grieving the death of someone. This one-hour workshop offers a supportive space to explore what grief is, how it may show up during this time of year, and ways to care for yourself throughout the season. We’ll offer practical tools for managing gatherings and expectations, and introduce simple, meaningful ways to remember the person who died. Whether the death was recent or long ago, you are welcome to attend this workshop. You don’t have to navigate this season alone.

Last week, we had a very special visitor roaming around the HCH campus — Sinterklaas himself! 🎅🇳🇱

He brought smiles, laughter, and a little touch of Dutch tradition to residents, tenants, and team members as we officially step into the Christmas spirit.

Moments like these remind us of the joy of community, connection, and celebration across our Grace and Faith Manor homes and the wider HCH family. ❤️🎄

Over 100 family members, friends, residents, and care partners came together in love and remembrance to honour those we have lost from Grace and Faith Manor over the past year.
Your presence, your stories, and the way you held space for one another made this gathering truly meaningful. 💛

Last week, some of our team members had the privilege of attending 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐎𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨’𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟓 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠.

We were honoured to hear from keynote speaker Peter Yuen, retired member of the Toronto Police Service with over 34 years of experience. A respected lecturer on change management, leadership, and customer service, Peter shared powerful insights on staying motivated during challenging situations and delivering difficult news with professionalism and integrity.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this to strengthen our leadership across the organization—supporting a culture of learning, collaboration, and excellence for everyone who lives, works, or partners with Holland Christian Homes. 💙

The PoET Project supports Ontario long-term care homes in meeting their obligations around consent, capacity, and substitute decision-making—a vital foundation for safe, ethical, and person-centred care.

Achieving PoET Certification reflects our commitment to:

�✔️ Maintaining clear roles and processes related to consent�
✔️ Recognizing and respecting resident autonomy�
✔️ Embedding strong, consistent consent practices into every decision-making process

This work is also deeply connected to our journey as an RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization ( ). Through the Person- and Family-Centred Care and Palliative and End-of-Life Care best practice guidelines, we continue to strengthen how we honour residents’ choices, uphold dignity, and support meaningful decision-making throughout all stages of life.

Today we recognize National Grief and Bereavement Day.

Everyone will face loss at some point in their lives, but few of us are prepared for how long grief can last, how deep it can feel, or how profoundly it can change us — and the people we love. Grief is not something to “get over.” It is a journey we learn to walk with support, compassion, and understanding.

💙 Happy Nurse Practitioner Week! 💙

We are incredibly thankful for the Nurse Practitioners across Holland Christian Homes. With an NP in each of our long-term care homes, we are fortunate to have skilled clinical leaders helping to transform care every day.

Nurse Practitioners bring advanced training in assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing medications, managing chronic conditions, and leading complex care planning — all while providing compassionate, person-centred support to residents and families.

They collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, advocate for quality of life, and play a vital role in prevention, acute care, palliative support, and system navigation within long-term care.

Thank you to our NPs for your expertise, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence — we are better because of you!
