Today we commemorate the 350th Shaheedi Divas of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji (1621–1675) — a timeless reminder of courage, compassion, and the universal right to freedom of belief.

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji stood against religious oppression during a period of great injustice, defending the right of others to practise their faith freely. His sacrifice in 1675 is one of the earliest recorded defences of human rights, freedom of conscience, and dignity for all people, regardless of background or belief.

At Niwaas, we are guided by values rooted in seva, compassion, and creating spaces where every individual feels safe, respected, and supported.
On this important day, we reflect on Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s legacy — a call to uphold justice, protect the vulnerable, and stand for the rights of others with humility and courage.

May his teachings continue to inspire us toward a more compassionate and inclusive society.

In 1619, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji secured the release of 52 imprisoned kings, leading them to freedom with courage and grace. His selfless act continues to inspire us to stand for others and lead with kindness.

May the light of Bandi Chhor Divas fill our hearts and homes with peace, love, and unity. 🕯️✨

Exciting news for Niwaas from City Hall today!

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Brampton City Council for their continued support of our LTC. A special thank you to Councillors Brar and Toor for moving a motion to waive development charges for our not-for-profit initiative—saving the project almost $2 million.

This incredible support brings us even closer to creating a long-term care home tailored to the needs of our community. We are deeply grateful to the entire council for their commitment to this vision and their belief in the importance of this project.

Together, we’re building a brighter future for seniors in our community.
