We often hide and mask ourselves from how we actually feel about food. We pretend to be OK but really we are shaming ourselves and overburden with guilt because of the “bad” food choices we’ve made.
A lot of us have a little voice in our head saying that certain foods are “bad” and certain foods are “good”
What happens when we go for those “bad” foods, the shame and guilt takes over ruining our relationship with food.
This black and white approach to nutrition creates a restrictive diet mindset and it’s simply not sustainable. It can lead to bingeing, yo-yo dieting, and more..
The bingeing and the uncontrollable cravings that you just can’t seem to shake is your body talking to you. It’s telling you that you’re unsatisfied, that it needs more. And then when you give in, you’re back to square one.
Food should not be classified as “bad” or “good”
Food is fuel.
Food is nourishment.
Food is healing.
What food choices can we make so that you can reach your goals in a sustainable way?
Sustainability here means that you’re not restricting yourself, it means you’re nourishing yourself and giving your body what it needs to flourish.
You often hear people say, “it’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle”
Well what does that mean!?
How do you make something your lifestyle?
It’s about having the information, the education and the knowledge to make the right food choices. It’s about feeling empowered about what you choose knowing that it’s right for you.
This education piece is what myself and Carla are here to provide in our Nourish and Flourish program. Yes we will provide you with a meal plan, but the lasting impact will come from providing you with the information you need to make the right choices on a daily basis and ultimately make it your lifestyle.
