✨ Welcome to the team, Cassidy! ✨

We’re so excited to officially welcome Cassidy Johns, MA (Counselling Psychology) to The Wellness Clinic team full-time starting January 5.

Many of you may recognize Cassidy from her time with us as a Master’s student, and we’re thrilled to have her continue her work here as she steps into this next chapter of her career. Cassidy brings a compassionate, client-centred approach and is actively working toward her CCC designation (stay tuned!).

She provides individual and couples counselling for clients aged 15+, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Person-Centred Therapy to support a wide range of mental health concerns.

We’re grateful for her warmth, skill, and dedication — and we know our community will be too. 💛
Welcome, Cassidy!

To book with Cassidy, or any of our other mental health practitioners, call us at 204-717-7400

This time of year can stir up a lot:

🎁 Pressure to do and be everything
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family expectations + emotional load
💰 Financial stress + gift overwhelm
📅 Busy schedules, reduced downtime
💤 Sleep disruption, body tension, fatigue

If any of this resonates, support is available.
Our counsellors currently have opening availability over the next 3 weeks for new and returning clients. A session could be the reset you need heading into the new year.

Pause. Breathe. You don’t have to navigate the season alone.
Reach out—your wellbeing matters.

Manitoba winters bring beauty — and some serious slip hazards.

Icy sidewalks, uneven snow, and freezing rain can increase the risk of falls, especially for older adults.

The good news? Small, proactive steps can make winter mobility much safer:
✨ Proper winter footwear with good tread
✨ Walking poles or mobility aids used correctly
✨ Strengthening and balance exercises
✨ Home safety adjustments (salt, sand, grab bars)
✨ Learning how to fall more safely and get up with confidence

Staying active and independent through the winter IS possible.

Our physiotherapist, Meagan, can help you build strength, improve balance, and feel more secure in the snow and ice.

You deserve to move through winter with confidence. 💙

🐾 Meet Our Emotional Support Department! 🐾
Please join us in officially welcoming Stevie and Poppy to The Wellness Clinic family.

Many of you knew and loved Odo — our original four-legged colleague who left the biggest pawprints on our hearts. His gentle presence supported countless patients (and staff!), and he set the bar so high that… well… it now takes two dogs to fill his shoes. 💛

✨ Poppy — our snorting, treat-loving, endlessly playful French bulldog — brings smiles everywhere she goes. Her goofy charm and big personality make her a fan favourite the moment she waddles into a room.

✨ Stevie — our miniature Aussiedoodle with those unforgettable piercing blue eyes — is sweet, loving, and fiercely loyal. She’s the gentle soul who leans in for comfort and offers quiet support when you need it most.

Together, they’re here to offer warmth, grounding, and a little extra joy during your visits. If you see them around, feel free to say hello — they’re always excited to make a new friend.

Welcome to the team, Stevie & Poppy. You’re already doing important work. 🐶🤍

🧡 To the survivors in our community: We see you. We believe you.

Gender-based violence takes many forms—physical, emotional, sexual, financial, and psychological. Every experience is valid, and every survivor deserves compassion and care.

At The Wellness Clinic, our interdisciplinary team works hard to create a space where people feel safe accessing support for their physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing.

If you’re ready to talk, or even if you’re not sure where to begin, support is here when you need it.

You deserve safety. You deserve dignity. You deserve healing.

👋 Happy World Hello Day!

A simple “hello” can open a conversation, ease someone’s stress, or make a space feel more welcoming.

At The Wellness Clinic, we believe connection is the foundation of good care.

So today, take a moment to:
✨ Say hello to a neighbour
✨ Check in on a friend
✨ Greet a coworker
✨ Or smile at someone who looks like they need it

Small gestures can make a big difference — especially in healthcare and community wellness.

Hello from all of us at TWC! 💛

November 20 marks Transgender Day of Remembrance — a day to honour the lives of transgender and gender-diverse individuals who have been lost to violence and prejudice.

Today, we pause to remember.
We see you.
We honour you.
We commit to standing alongside the 2SLGBTQ+ community in creating safer, more inclusive spaces for all.
