As some of you know from my posts over the years, I volunteer with the Assiniboine Food Forest. If you don’t know much about this magical location right here in Brandon ,I really encourage you to check out this link to their website about all the amazing work they do. You can also find their page on Facebook.

One of our major fundraisers that helps fund projects like educational tours, our food bank garden, the Orchards, the hiking trails, tree planting and other conservation efforts… IS OUR ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP CARD.

This card costs $20 ..and with this card you will also get 10% off the Footbath Reflexology sessions here at my business, as well as the very generous donation of 10% off live plants at THE GREENSPOT. If you’re going to spend $200 or more on live plants this year… this card pays for itself.

Message me if you would like to purchase a card and if you are located within Brandon city limits, I will even get it dropped off for you.

AYURVEDIC INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE

If you’ve never experienced this, or aren’t quite sure what it involves, it’s truly worth exploring. It is so much more than a head massage and it benefits your entire body. This seated session is very different than a typical massage, and is amazing for shoulder tension, neck tension, and headaches.

Originating in India over 1,000 years ago, Indian Head Massage is traditionally used to promote balance, circulation, clarity of mind, and overall wellbeing. It is designed to calm the nervous system, relieve tension, improve lymphatic flow, and support the body’s natural healing processes.

From the moment you arrive, your senses are nurtured with essential oils, soft lighting, warmth, relaxing music, and the gentle glow of candlelight. A custom blend of oils made in house is used on the hair to promote scalp and hair health, and gives your hair amazing nourishment. It includes ingredients like sweet almond oil, blackseed oil, pomegranate oil, rosemary oil, cedar oil, stinging nettle, and more.

Your upper back, neck, and shoulders are worked according to your comfort level. Deep pressure points and massage techniques release tension and melt away tightness.

The head follows, using traditional Ayurvedic techniques. This receives the most time. Alternating vigorous and gentle movements stimulate marma points (energy points) and meridians, encouraging energy flow throughout the body. Gentle hair pulling, friction movements, “shampoo” style fingertip massage, and rhythmic tapping are all part of the experience …and yes, it feels incredible.

We then move to the face as you lean into support and release the effort of holding your head. Key facial pressure points are activated, followed by a slow, soothing facial massage to encourage circulation and relaxation.

Lastly, we finish with the ears. Like the hands and feet, the ears contain reflex points connected to the entire body. A gentle bilateral ear massage often surprises clients with how deeply relaxing it feels.

Each session closes with an energy clearing, acknowledging that our health extends beyond the physical body. You leave feeling open, grounded, refreshed, and deeply relaxed.

Don’t hesitate to add this powerful ancient practice to your self-care routin

This is a cause I volunteer with every year. If you could help by sharing this event, it would be much appreciated .

If you have never heard of the Assiniboine Food Forest , it is located right here in Brandon at the end of Rosser Ave., East. Come out and enjoy a bonfire, pancakes or hotdogs, hiking trails and see how maple syrup is made. This is a great day to celebrate nature just a few days before Earth Day!

TOURS ARE FULL! 🙂

On this beautiful day, you can enjoy a one-hour tour of the sugar bush and maple syrup operation led by syrup maker Dave Barnes. If conditions are right, we'll be boiling syrup in the evaporator and sap will be dripping into the pails. It's such a wonderful day for kids to get involved!

After your tour, stay and purchase pancakes and bacon with our fresh maple syrup, or a bbq hot dog to enjoy while you sit by the fire..or at our picnic tables. Hot chocolate, coffee and drinks will also be available.

Tours cost $5 per person, cash and credit/debit accepted. Register your tour in advance by texting Dave at 204-728-6278. Numbers are limited to 25 total per tour, which depart on the hour from 11am to 4pm.

There's lots of parking available at the Green Spot or on the roadside of the turnaround circle at the end of Rosser Ave E. We'll see you in the sugar bush... vive le temps des sucres!
