Golden Age Management

Golden Age Management Advocating for active aging and assisting adults in navigating health and change through later life

In Greek Mythology, the Golden Ages are defined as an idyllic period denoting peace, harmony, and prosperity. As we age, the strain of our commitments and responsibilities can heavily weigh on us and our support systems which can restrict our sense of stability and overall wellbeing. Golden Age Management is designed to reduce the stress of seniors and their support systems by assisting them in navigating the steps following life changes associated with health and care dynamics.

Here’s an example scenario of what Golden Age Management Health & Wellness Services may look like:

🤝 After meeting with the client and their family for a free consultation and agreeing to services, Golden Age Management would co-create a personalized care plan, gathering important information while outlining goals, routines, and expectations.

🏡 In this scenario, the family arranges ongoing support including companionship, home support, and mobility-focused wellness.

📅 We provide consistent check-ins with scheduled calls for connection and medication reminders, along with weekly grocery shopping or delivery to ensure the home stays well-stocked and supportive of daily living.

🧘‍♀️ Visits may also include gentle, guided movement using a yoga-informed and active aging approach, supporting strength, balance, and safe, confident movement throughout the home.

💛 With thoughtful, consistent support in place, clients are able to maintain their independence while feeling safe, supported, and cared for in their own hom

I’m participating in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s in Brantford on 30th to help raise money on behalf of the Alzheimer Society, so they can meet the growing demand for programs and services. These and other resources make all the difference in the way that people affected by dementia are able to manage the disease and live life to the fullest.

Please consider making a donation to my team. No matter how small or big, you are making a difference in the lives of people affected by dementia.

Each donation towards the Walk for Alzheimer's helps fund crucial programs and services for people with dementia, their caregivers, and their families.

The scariest part of dementia isn’t always memory loss—it’s losing the sense of being needed."
When someone we love is diagnosed, our first instinct is to protect them. We say, "Don’t worry about the cooking," or "I’ll handle the bills." We mean well, but "subtracting" these roles can make them feel pushed out of their own lives.
The most powerful shift we can make is Substitution instead of Subtraction.
When a task becomes too difficult, don’t just take it away. Find a way they can still contribute: If cooking is unsafe , ask them to wash the vegetables or set the table.
If money is too complex, let them sort coins or organize receipts.
If they can’t drive, ask them to be the "navigator" and help plan the route.
If they can’t clean, ask them to fold the towels or pair the socks.
The goal isn’t perfection; it’s purpose.
People living with dementia still need to feel useful, respected, and involved. When we focus on what they can do, we reduce the anxiety and withdrawal that comes from feeling sidelined.
Dementia changes abilities, but it never erases the human need for meaning. Let’s keep them at the heart of their own story.
Be kind.
