In Greek Mythology, the Golden Ages are defined as an idyllic period denoting peace, harmony, and prosperity. As we age, the strain of our commitments and responsibilities can heavily weigh on us and our support systems which can restrict our sense of stability and overall wellbeing. Golden Age Management is designed to reduce the stress of seniors and their support systems by assisting them in navigating the steps following life changes associated with health and care dynamics.

Today I took the first step toward achieving my Master of Social Work 🎓

Providing therapy to older adults, caregivers, and families has been a long-term goal of mine. After completing my SSW, gaining hands-on experience, and earning my degree in Gerontology, I knew this was the next step in expanding how I support clients.

Pursuing an MSW will allow me to deepen my clinical skills and help make services more accessible, including the ability for clients to use extended health insurance benefits for therapy through Golden Age Management.

I’m so excited for this next chapter 💛

This past month has flown by!

Right in the middle of the holiday buzz, I was presented with the opportunity to join my husband on a work trip to Arizona. The weeks that followed were filled with planning our itinerary, practicing the new fitness classes I’d be teaching, and managing my workload.

Now that the trip has come and gone, and I’m feeling settled into this new style of training, I keep catching myself thinking, “What’s next?”

I’m still getting used to the stability—and sometimes the monotony—that comes with a consistent routine. I’ve always been someone who wants more. But I’m learning that change will come when it’s meant to, and there’s no need to rush from one chapter to the next.

Remaining mindful through the ebbs and flows of life is something I’m always working on!

At Golden Age Management, we don’t offer therapy — but we do offer presence, support, advocacy, and education.

As a registered social service worker, I’m often invited into very personal spaces. While packing boxes or sorting through a home, stories surface. Trust is shared. At times, I become privy to complex situations that require care, discretion, and thoughtful boundaries.

Navigating these dynamics means constantly balancing compassion with professionalism — supporting without overstepping, listening without diagnosing, and always keeping the older adult’s safety, dignity, and autonomy at the centre of our work.

As a young entrepreneur, I’m continually learning, reflecting, and evolving — guided by ethics, experience, and the responsibility that comes with being trusted in such meaningful moments.

Like the homes helps pack, the lives we’re trusted with are fragile — and deserve to be handled with care.

I’m happy to share that I’ll be returning to teaching yoga and movement classes in the new year. ✨
Yoga and fitness have played a significant role in my life, and after completing my teacher training in 2020, it was a privilege to guide others in their practice.
I’m looking forward to offering in-person classes again, more information coming 🔜

Who stayed up watching the game last night? ⚾️
The World Series is on, and for a lot of older adults, that means it’s time to settle in with a snack, a blanket, and some good baseball.
It’s a great reminder that the small routines and traditions we enjoy, like watching a game, can bring a lot of comfort and connection.
