We would just like to say, wow! We have such an incredible community! Thank you to all the hard working individuals and volunteers who make Light Up the Town come to life.

Last night we saw the town sparkle with smiles and laughter. Despite a chilly evening, so many of you brought your loved stuffies for their yearly health checks. Ranging anywhere from a hamster to a dinosaur the doctors made sure everyone was treated. We have amazing teddy bear parents out there!

We are currently experiencing a power outage this evening and our phone lines are down. If you have an emergency during this time we ask that you call Coastal Care Veterinary Emergency Hospital at 1-902-707-1134 for assistance. We will resume on call services as soon as the power returns.

The last few weeks have been challenging for our community. The long lake wildfire has been relentless. Day after day we hear the heartbreaking stories, and watch the many workers and volunteers pass by our window.

Despite the challenges, it has been incredible to see the kindness, strength and resilience in people around us. It is something to be proud of.

Over the past few days we have partnered with Purina in donating over $4000 worth of pet food to donation centres and the county for distribution to those in need.

We can’t say it enough; thank you to all those who are spending countless hours working and volunteering to keep our community safe.
