Wrk of the week : ~ end range strength
Bb gals gotta work 🩰

For every decade we age, we will lose up to 10% of our muscles elasticity and flexibility. This is due to a variety of things, one of the biggest being a decrease in collagen production.

The best thing you can do for yourself is continue to stretch, but also find strength in your end ranges through balance, muscle activation and holding limbs up using your muscles.

Our bodies are designed to keep us safe. Most of us are more flexible than our bodies allow, but if we don’t have strength at your end ranges, your body won’t allow you to utilize it as it sees that as potential for injury.

Hit your end ranges in your workouts
Practice mobility
Practice strength in your end range
& keep movin along 💗💗

If you want I train end range flexibility, I have a class called the Barre Edit happening Jan 28th @ 10am where we’ll work on some flexy strength based work together 💗

Meet Shaelyn

Shaelyn Eliott is a Registered Massage Therapist, Fascial Stretch Therapist, and is currently studying to become a Certified Nutrition Coach. Shaelyn graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy 2200 hour two year diploma program in May of 2016. As a former national level figure skater, Shaelyn has a very unique understanding of mobility and injuries, and has had a driven mindset from a very young age.

“I feel that I have a very unique approach to treatments. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is seeing the reaction on someones face when they get up off the table and you can tell that they immediately feel some relief. It’s such an incredible feeling to have the ability to help guide someone in the direction of reaching their physical goals.”

Shaelyn treats people of all kinds, but finds she has the most success working with athletes, as well as those struggling with their mobility patterns.

“My passion in this field is undeniably the fact that I get to work with athletes of all ages in such a wide variety of sports. I work weekly with the same group of figure skaters and dancers, as advanced flexibility is something that is so crucial to their sport. Flexibility is something that I have always excelled in, so having the ability to share my knowledge on how to achieve these skills safely with the younger generations always brings a smile to my face.”
