An active, evidence-based approach to preventing and rehabilitating pain & injuries using a one-on-one treatment approach focusing on the cause of the problems, not just the symptoms so you can get relief from pain and get back to doing what you love even when there’s been little to no change with other approaches.

An image of the medial ankle from Moroni et al. (2018), branches of the tibial nerve, which comes from the sciatic nerve. I almost always find that one or more of these branches are sensitive in cases of ankle, foot, and even back pain.

This was a long interval workout below CP using . 20 min warmup, 15 min interval, 5 min at warmup, 15 min interval, 5 min down again. Felt good, lots left when done. VO2 kinetics and HR look pretty stable during intervals. But look at TV, RF and FeO2 during interval 2. TV dropped, RF and FeO2 increased. So breathing efficiency dropped and likely O2 at muscle decreased/not as much off loading. would be helpful to see that trend.

Bigger bag today! Training with greater volume to improve respiratory capability. The respiratory system is one of the systems that contribute to the delivery of oxygen (and getting rid of carbon dioxide) to the working of muscles. So a less than ideal respiratory system can limit your fitness. The diaphragm is also involved in spinal stabilization. Coincidentally, I’ve found that many people with back pain have less the norm in spirometry (volumes of air moved). The spirotiger, along with other devices, can used to improve the respiratory system. We can see how the respiratory system functions as part of a CPET, also known as a VO2 test or threshold testing.
