Opa!

Home of the Acropolis, the Olympic games and the birthplace of western civilization, the country of Greece has made countless contributions to the world we live in. But one of the best contributions is the food.

Our Taste Greece event featured classic spanakopita, chicken souvlaki, Greek salad, tzatziki and pita. And for dessert? Why, baklava cheesecake of course!

We can't wait to see – and taste – the cuisine from our destination in January!

It may be getting colder outside, but we kept things toasty with our Coats & Kindness Social Series event!

We enjoyed a winterwear fashion show thanks to "You & Me Fashion" from the Whitby Mall, seasonal treats and a decadent affogato bar as we collected coats and warm items to donate to Simcoe Settlement House. The stars of the show strut their stuff with confidence!

On Remembrance Day, our community came together to honor the brave men and women who have served our country.

Residents gathered to share stories before our moment of silence, pay tribute to the veterans who call our communities home – and those whose courage continues to inspire us.

This afternoon we had a formal Remembrance Day ceremony with representatives from MPP Lorne Coe's office and MP Juanita Nathan's office. Thank you to Deputy Mayor Rhonda Mulcahy for your kind words and from the members of the Brooklin Legion for your visit.
Barbara led our annual candle lighting ceremony in honor of our Veterans and we shared in a memorable social afterwards.

To all who have served: Thank you for your dedication and sacrifice. We remember. ❤️

We got a little bit spooky and had a whole lot of fun for Halloween.

We dressed in orange and black and had a great costume party with Mike. Thank you to Erin from the kitchen, for making our cupcakes. Congratulations to John our best costume winner! And thank you to all our residents and staff for joining in!

Mahima goes the extra mile for our community. We're proud to announce they have received an Exceptional Service Award! This long-standing program highlights community staff who go above and beyond for their residents and co-workers.

Mahima is one of the overnight porters and takes pride in her work. She is amazing with our residents and goes beyond the call of duty in everything. It was well earned. Congrats, Mahima!

Our Page Turners Social Series event was a hit, bringing our resident bookworms together and introducing them to the Writer's Community of Durham.This group is dedicated to the advancement of creative writing skills and offers a supportive environment for writers at all levels. Today a group of these writers came to talk about their creative works and give residents the chance to enjoy them too!
