Sweet Feet Clients,
I wanted to take a moment to update you regarding appointments over the coming weeks.

As I continue to recover from an ankle injury, I am pleased to share that Mandy Bhar, an L.P.N, and Footcare Nurse with over 8 years of experience, will be working alongside me to help ensure uninterrupted, high-quality care for Sweet Feet clients.

Mandy and I share the same commitment to professionalism, gentle care, and the standards Sweet Feet has upheld for over 11 years. She will be assisting with appointments while I focus on healing, and I remain involved to ensure a smooth and consistent experience for everyone.

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing trust. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Warm regards,
Melinda

Dear Sweet Feet Client,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to let you know that due to an unexpected injury, I will be temporarily unable to provide foot care services.
I have sustained a broken ankle and am currently non-weight bearing in a boot cast. As a result, I am unable to work or drive at this time. I will be reassessed at the orthopedic clinic in approximately two weeks, at which point I will have a better understanding of my healing timeline. Depending on my recovery, I may require an additional time before I am able to safely return to work.
I truly value each and every one of my clients and deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause. Your comfort, safety, and continuity of care are very important to me. If you require foot care services during my absence, I completely understand and encourage you to arrange care with another provider in the meantime.

For your convenience, here are a few trusted providers you may wish to contact:
Neat Feet – Amber: 403-977-9929
Kelly’s Footcare – Kelly: 403-866-4488
Kirsty – Mobile Esthetician (Pedicures) (Not a nurse though )

I will provide an update once I have more information following my upcoming appointment on the 19th. Thank you so much for your understanding, patience, and kindness during this time. Please contact me for the date of your next appointment to see if you even need to arrange an alternate appt.
Warm regards,
Melinda

SHOES!!
SO IMPORTANT IN SO MANY WAYS.
I have seen people get these shoes and as a result no longer have callouses!
IF YOU WANT A WASHABLE, SLIP ON SLIPPER TYPE SHOE THAT HAS A WIDE and HIGH TOE BOX , PEDORS IS SUPER! I ALSO LOVE THAT THEY PROTECT YOUR FEET IF YOUR IN A WHEELCHAIR WAY BETTER THEN SOFT SLIPPERS, PLUS THEY HAVE A SOLID BASE WITH GRIP FOR TRANSFERS AND MOBILITY. A LITTLE MORE EXPENSIVE BUT LAST LONGER WITH BETTER RESULTS!

To all my loyal customers who have made such an impact in my life and heart! Thanks to all of you, I have grown my business into what it is today!

Effective June 1st/2021, I will no longer be providing private in-home sessions. With this in mind, I would like to offer you the opportunity to schedule your sessions at my Home Studio. I will still be continuing to provide service at all Nursing Homes in Medicine Hat.

To those of you that have been there for me on this journey to success, I want to thank you so much for your loyalty and support. My heart has had an overflowing basket of love with the stories and times that we have spent together while “tickling your toes”. I truly love what I do, and the passion I have as a Foot care Nurse is evident through every day. I look forward to continuing to be an integral part of your healthcare team by providing the foot care service dedicated for your optimal health!

Again, thank you for your support! I wouldn’t be here at these crossroads if It hadn’t been for you!

Sweet Feet will continue to provide their services as a "Regulated & Essential Provider" to their cliental. Thank you so much for your dedication and patience with this Covid-19 pandemic that has changed all of our worlds. I will continue to provide services to one Nursing Home per day, home visits, and my studio as scheduled. There is always something to be thankful for and I am truly blessed to have a profession I love, and to be able to pamper and spend time with my clients. All the best in this season of love! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

COVID-19
It has been very challenging both financially and personally within our world right now; frustrating, unsure, scared, sad, and I have been feeling helpless to help those who rely on my services.

As a nurse and owner of Sweet Feet, I provide community footcare that needs a more medical procedure then a regular pedicure. I have not been considered an "Essential" service during this Covid-19. I have 4 regulatory bodies/health authorities that guide my decision to perform any footcare. Being a privately owned business also puts me in a different category.

That being said, I am now only allowed to do
"Urgent and high risk" footcare!

There are many obstacles that will guide my process of whether or not to attend to you/or your family member's footcare . Please be patient as Denise and I try to develop a strategy and plan of how to assess each one of your important phone calls!

We will use an assessment tool and screening process which you will sign off on before footcare is done.We will advise you over the phone of the risks.
Safety precautions are most important to protect all of us!

Please bear in mind that there is a process and many considerations for all environments which I enter.
I need/will contact the Director of Care at each home before I enter to be informed of the most updated policy, procedure and P.P.E required at each facility.
If I enter your home, there is a safety protocol.

What is P.P.E.?
Gown, gloves, proper mask, face shield or eye goggles, and sanitizer.
The availability of proper protective equipment is extremely hard to acquire! Suppliers are supporting as many as they can, however back orders are taking forever.

I can't help but relate to September 9/11 and all the new procedures that were put in place to protect us. Sometimes, it takes a catastrophe to rebuild our world. I have faith that good will develop from all this. I also hope that there will be many changes to the policy and procedures for us all to have more clarity and guidance for all of the footcare/community facility/clinic nurses and operations.

Stay safe, Healthy and Hopeful!
Melinda and Denise
