Running a small business isn’t just about having a talent. Knowing how to make things, bake, style hair, or create is a skill, but it’s NOT the business itself.
The part people don’t talk about enough is learning HOW to actually run the business behind the scenes. Customer service. Organization. Inventory. Policies. Creating systems. Creating an experience. Unless you have the money to hire help, these are skills you HAVE TO learn along the way.
That doesn’t mean you need to be perfect right away. It means you need to be willing to grow beyond just the talent. Because talent gets attention, but structure, consistency, and care are what keep a business alive.
