Today is World Osteoporosis Day
Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disease characterized by low bone density and an increased risk of fracture. It is a major public health concern in Canada and worldwide, with over 2 million Canadians living with it.
Although chiropractic care can’t reverse osteoporosis, chiropractors can promote several bone health strategies to prevent, delay or reduce bone loss through recommendations on physical activity and resistance training exercises, nutrition plans, and advice on lifestyle changes such as supplements, avoiding smoking and reducing excessive alcohol consumption.
