Some fun facts :
Jackfruit is the largest tree- borne fuit in the wold.
Jackfruit is a fruit which behaves like a vegetable when young and green.
Jackfuit when green is cooked like a vegetable.
When yellow and ripe, it is eaten fresh and used in desserts and smoothies.

But seeing it in Sri Lanka ... hanging straight from the trunk of the tree ... was something else entirely 🌿

It felt abundant and nourishing and warm and inviting.

In Ayurveda, ripe jackfruit is sweet, strengthening and grounding.
Young jackfruit is heavier, more savoury and deeply satisfying when properly spiced.

I recently turned the young green version into high protein tacos - smoky, hearty, energizing - and they were a hit at home!

It's incredible how one fruit can be dessert one day and taco night the next.

Food really is medicine when we understand it properly.

Have you tasted jackfruit? What did you think?

Here's my recipe for high - protein smoky jackfuit tacos. You would want to save it - it's really good and yummy!

1 ½ cups green jackfruit, washed and shredded
½ cup cooked black beans
½ cup crumbled firm tofu or you can use paneer
1 tbsp ghee or oil of your choice
1 small onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp cumin
½ tsp chilli powder
½ cup tomato sauce
1 - 2 tbsp water (if needed)
salt and black pepper to taste
corn or flour tortillas
Method :
Heat the ghee or oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Saute onion and garlic until soft and fragrant.
Add shredded jackfruit and cook 3 - 4 minutes, untly slightly browned.
Stir in the beans, tofu or panneer and all the spices.
Add tomato sauce, mix well, cover and simmer for 10 - 15 minutes
Lighly mash with the back of a spoon to create a pulled texture.
Adjust salt and spice.
Warm tortillas, fill generously and top with any of the ffg:
sliced avocado 🥑
shredded cabbage or slaw
fresh cilantro. 🌿
lime wedges or lime juice
diced tomatoes
sour cream or yoghurt
Note the tomato sauce used is chopped fresh tomatoes cooked down and not ketchup.

Save this for your next taco night. And tell me - would you try jackfruit green ....or ripe? 👇🏻

I stood here longer than I expected.
Just watching bananas.🍌

Not all bananas are the same - and Ayurveda has been saying this forever.

The red bananas in the middle?
Heavier, grounding, deeply nourishing. Great for Vata, muscle building, recovery.

The bright yellow ones?
Easy digestion, quick energy, perfect when Agni is steady.

The green ones?
Dry astringent, excellent when Kapha is high, blood sugar needs support or digestion feels sluggish.

Same fruit.
Different varieties- different effects on the body.

This is what modern nutrition misses - and what Ayurveda gets right every single time.
➡ food is not universal, it's personal.

At my clinic, we don't demonize foods. We don't follow trends.
We look at you - your digestion, your stage of life, your imbalances - and then decide what actually serves your body.

Sometimes healing starts with medicine.
Sometimes it starts with understanding why even a banana can heal .....or harm.

Ancient wisdom.
Still wildly relevant 🌿

If this made you pause and think about your own digestion, energy or food choices, you already know where to find me.

I didn't expect this to move me the way it did.

At 98 Acres Resort & Spa, tucked away in the misty hills of Ella, I walked into a serene corner of the resort and there it was...

An altar.
Not just one path.
But Jesus, Ganesha and Buddha - side by side.

No labels.
No hierarchy.
No explanation needed.

Just presence.

And something inside me softened.

Because here's the realization that stayed with me:
truth doesn't compete. It coexists.

Different forms.
Different languages.
Different rituals.
But the same invitation - to become ore conscious, more compassionate, more aligned.

That's when it clicked why this felt so deeply Ayurvedic to me.

Ayurveda has never been about one way.
It's about your way.
Your constitution.
Your season of life.
Your balance.

Just like the altar-
Ayurveda doesn't ask you to erase who you are.
it asks you to listen.
To your body.
To your mind.
To your spirit.

Standing there, surrounded by green hills and silence, I felt it so clearly:
healing isn't rigid.
It's inclusive.
It's intelligent.
It's kind.

And maybe that's what real wellness looks like -
not choosing sides
but choosing harmony.

If this resonated even a little, you're my kind of people
Follow along - I share reflections, Ayurveda and real-life moments that don't fit neatly into boxes.

The one thing that made me fall completely in love with Ayurveda.

We are ALL different - even siblings raised in the exact same home.

So why is healthcare still “one pill fits all?

Ayurveda treats every person as unique. Your unique dosha, your own story and your own perfect plan.

Ritual matters.

Whether at the beginning or the end, moments of pause allow the body to integrate healing.

This is the philosophy we carry into every patient experience.

Stillness isn’t inactivity.
It’s strength without noise. 🌊
Grounded, breathing, present — letting the mind settle while the body listens.
This is how clarity returns.

In the stillness of this moment, we find ourselves. 🙏

There's a profound beauty in pausing—in closing our eyes, quieting our minds, and simply being present. This is where true healing begins. Not in rushing toward wellness, but in surrendering to it.

Ayurveda teaches us that inner peace is not something we chase. It's something we cultivate through presence, through honoring our bodies, and through connecting deeply with ourselves and the world around us.

Today, I invite you to pause. Take three conscious breaths. Notice the sensations in your body. Feel the ground beneath your feet. This moment—right here, right now—is where your healing lives.

When we are present, we are whole. When we are whole, we are healed. đź’š

As we step into 2026, this is the year to honor what your body truly needs.

Just as these flowers bloom with care and attention, your wellness thrives when you commit to balance—mind, body, spirit, and environment working in harmony.

What does self-care look like for you this year?
