The Burlington Downtown BIA Annual Candlelit Stroll is back and is taking place on Friday, November 28th at 6 pm!

We invite you to enjoy a night of cheer, music, snacks, and local love as we gather at Civic Square (at City Hall) to light the Tree of Hope. From there, enjoy a self-led walk through the bright and festive streets of downtown Burlington.

Smith's is proud to continue our tradition of being the sponsor of the beautiful candles that will be available to all as we stroll through the streets and celebrate the start of a special season!

We’re excited to be taking part in an upcoming Compassionate Communities Hamilton event on November 13th from 3-7 pm. This event is for anyone who wants to “be there” for someone in need, and for those who work in the area of death and dying.
The keynote speaker this year is Yvonne Heath, who will teach our community how to ‘Just Show Up’ for themselves and others so they are empowered and resilient when grief and life’s challenges arrive.

What can you expect? Broad, diverse and deep learning around topics that affect us all…and, of course, engagement, discussion and connection! We hope to see you there!

We were honoured to take part in a recent estate information panel hosted by RBC . Panelists shared their expertise and a lot of information, giving everyone numerous topics to think about. The theme focused on helping families plan ahead, and giving them tips and tools to be more successful and organized when a death occurs. Sincere thanks to RBC for the invitation, and to fellow panelists Simpson Wigle for their legal and estate expertise!

Last week we were invited to chat with grade 10 students at Aldershot High School in Burlington about careers opportunities. Our sincere thanks to the amazing staff and youth at Aldershot for the engaging morning, and to HIEC for inviting so many enthusiastic professionals to talk about their respective careers.
