There was a time when I avoided mirrors.
Not because I didn’t know what I looked like…
but because every time I saw my reflection, I heard a voice telling me I wasn’t enough.
Not pretty enough.
Not successful enough.
Not healed enough.
And I was the one saying those things to myself.
It’s strange when you think about it.
Because if we looked at a photo of ourselves as a little child. That bright, curious, hopeful version of us, we would never speak to them that way.
We would hold them.
Encourage them.
Tell them they’re doing their best.
But somewhere along the way, we forgot that we are still that child.
Sometimes the person we are hardest on… is ourselves.
So here’s a gentle exercise for you today:
Stand in front of a mirror.
Look into your own eyes not to judge, but to reconnect.
Take a breath.
And try saying one of these mantras out loud:
“I am enough exactly as I am.”
✨ “I am learning to be kind to myself.”
✨ “I deserve patience, just like everyone else.”
✨ “My body and my gut are always trying to protect me.”
✨ “Healing takes time, and I am allowed to move slowly.”
It might feel uncomfortable at first.
That’s okay.
Sometimes healing begins with simply softening the way we speak to ourselves.
If you’re on a journey to reconnect with your body, calm your gut, and rebuild that relationship with yourself, my ebook Make Peace With Your Gut is a beautiful place to start. 💛
You deserve a life where your body feels safe and your inner voice feels supportive.
