β Can exercise help prevent falls?
YES! Absolutely it can!
π₯ Meeting recommended exercises standards (150 mins of moderate - vigorous activity per week) indirectly helps reduce the risk of falls by preventing deconditioning, frailty, sarcopenia and positively impacting cardiovascular health
π₯ Strength is a component of balance, so including strength training will positively impact balance and will help keep bones strong, making them less likely to fracture
π₯ Including balance training, agility & coordination exercises improves your bodies ability to recover from and respond to perturbances in balance which helps reduce the risk of falls
πͺ If you're already exercising and meeting the recommendations, you're on a good path to preventing falls!
πͺ If you're not exercising regularly yet, there's no time like the present to start!
In either case, our team is here to help make sure your program includes the components that will help reduce your risk of a fall!
