When Propel’s physiotherapist decides to run a half marathon, you KNOW she’s got the recovery game figured out.

Say hello to Jess – and yes, those are her legs feeling every single one of those 21.1 kilometers after the Oakville Half Marathon (Congrats on a great race Jess!🎉🎉)

Save this post and share it with anyone whose legs are screaming right now!

Here’s the thing: whether you just crushed a race, survived leg day at the gym, or went a little too hard on that weekend hike, these 6 stretches are your new best friends.

What you’re seeing:
• Hip flexor stretch – front of your hips
• Hip abductor stretch – outer hip/side
• Hamstring stretch – back of your thigh
• IT band stretch – side of your hip and thigh
• Calf stretch (straight leg) – lower calf
• Calf stretch (bent knee) – deeper calf muscle

The rule: 30 seconds each side. Deep stretch? Yes. Painful? Absolutely not.

Pro tip from Jess: Don’t skip the two different calf stretches – they target different muscles, and your legs will thank you for hitting both.

The pillow that held the top spot for years… until now

This adjustable shredded memory foam pillow has been my personal favorite and go-to patient recommendation for over 3 years. I genuinely thought I’d found “the one.”

What made it special:
✅ Completely customizable height and firmness
✅ Works for different body types and sleep positions
✅ Soft yet supportive once properly adjusted
✅ Great option for petite patients (can remove significant filling)
✅ Avoids the pressure points of firmer molded pillows

The reality of ownership: Once you find your ideal fill level, it provides excellent comfort. But it does require nightly fluffing to restore shape and some trial and error initially to get it just right.

What changed: After testing two other pillows for this review series, I discovered something unexpected. The Mkicesky pillow gives me the same quality sleep but without any daily maintenance. No fluffing, no adjusting - it just works, night after night.

Professional perspective: This shredded foam pillow remains an excellent choice for those who value customization and don’t mind a bit of upkeep. But sometimes you don’t realize there’s a better option until you try it.

When a 4.5-star "orthopedic" pillow doesn't deliver: A chiropractor's honest experience

Hi, I'm Dr. Alison Lejkowski. I recently tested the popular HOMCA Memory Foam Cervical Pillow after seeing countless positive reviews online. As someone who treats neck pain daily, I was genuinely excited to try this highly rated contoured design.

My real-world experience over one week:
The pillow's firm, moulded foam and distinct cervical curve looked promising for spinal alignment. However, I consistently woke up after 2-3 hours needing to switch pillows. The firmness level and raised sides created pressure points that made side sleeping uncomfortable, and I experienced ear discomfort throughout the night.

Professional observations:
This pillow might work well for strict back sleepers with larger frames who prefer very firm support. However, for combination sleepers or those with smaller builds, the design may be too rigid to accommodate natural sleep position changes.

Key takeaway:
Popular doesn't always mean universally suitable. Individual sleep patterns, body type, and comfort preferences matter significantly when choosing cervical support.

I tested this alongside two other Amazon pillows with very different results. One completely surprised me and has become my new recommendation for most patients (stay tuned for that one!)
