Not a lot of snow yet, but when it comes we will be ready. Thanks for sharing Dr. Gibbs’s tips for shoveling safely.
In case you missed it:
❄️ Warm up before you start. A five-minute walk or some dynamic stretches will help get blood circulating and warm muscles to help avoid injury.
❄️ Dress appropriately in layers and wear winter boots with rubber soles.
❄️ Pick a lightweight shovel with a smaller blade and economically designed curve in the handle.
❄️ Shovel frequently to lighten the load
❄️ Push, don’t throw the snow. When you do have to lift, avoid twisting and lift with legs and arms while keeping your back straight and strong.
