Going beyond what to expect when expecting. This class helps prepare parents physically and emotionally through practical information and thought-provoking dialogue.

This series runs on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 - 9 pm, for five weeks, May 13 - June 10.

Birth Beginnings has been educating, empowering and supporting families since 2001. Clients appreciate the passion, care, skills, and ability to present balanced information in a comfortable unbiased way. They walk away from this class feeling confident and in awe of how incredible the human body is, and how clever their babies are.

There are still spots left in the weekend crash course running May 25 & June 1, from 10 am - 5 pm.

This course is highly referred and attended by people whether they are single, partnered, on their first or fourth pregnancy.

Hypnosis is a powerful, easy-to-use tool that helps us have the types of thoughts and beliefs that best serve us. In class we explore
- how to eliminate the fear-tension-pain syndrome to encourage an easier, safer, more comfortable birth
- what is true and not true about birth, and what to expect
- practical comfort measures and pain management strategies
- as well as educating you on the postpartum period, so you can care well for yourself and your baby

After 23 years of teaching I got my first negative review. At first I felt nervous and self-critical. It was interesting to me how one opinion could get so deep under my skin, how our minds can ruminate, particularly when other feedback I hear is in such stark contrast.

I thrive on hearing people's experiences. I like to know what is working and not working. It reminded me why I do what I do, and how I value holding space for a group, with varied life experiences, wishes, and beliefs.

Though I wish they had a more positive experience, I will not apologize for delivering a balanced program. The negative feedback has been a good learning experience for me. I am grateful for the opportunity to reflect and grow.

It is with great excitement that I announce that I will be taking over teaching and pool rentals from Hypnobirthing Hamilton.

For many years I have supported families through many styles of mindfulness and hypnosis for birth. What stands out for me with this approach is how inclusive it is. Clients would be more engaged with their surroundings and their partner. It is useful for helping people stay in their power through all birthing options. And people it has helped them not only for birth but in their regular day to day lives.

When Lara mentioned she wanted to ease out of teaching, I was worried that this unique style would get lost. I began teaching it, and gained an even deeper appreciation for the content. I am so honoured to be able to continue sharing this with families. I had been renting out TENS units, now adding birth pools, means people have more choice bringing comfort to their births.
