Welcome to The Burlington and Area Midwives OFFICIAL page! We are a group of midwives that provide primary care in the Burlington area with privileges at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. We support hospital birth and home birth for low risk pregnancies. As a client, you have access to midwives 24 hours a day 7 days a week for urgent concerns. Our office is open most weekdays for any non-urgent inquiries. Our main office is located at 4332 New Street, Burlington with a satellite location (because we are growing!) at 760 Brant Street. This page is a place for past clients, new clients and prospective clients to gather. We share news and information about our practice and midwifery in Ontario and the world. It’s time for our annual reunion picnic! 🧺 💜 ☀️

Reconnect with your midwives! Come join us on Sunday September 28th at Hidden Valley Park (Area 4) between 12:30 to 3:30 pm. Open to clients who had babies with us April 1st 2024 to March 31st 2025.

Water re-filling stations are available- please bring a reusable water bottle. Light snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring a picnic for your family.

We are accepting donations to the Women’s Centre of Halton. Monetary donations and feminine / hygiene products will be accepted.

Please note that some midwives are on call during our picnic, so we cannot guarantee full attendance for all of our midwives.

McMaster University is looking for participants for a research study, called
Online Transdiagnostic Group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Postpartum Depression and Anxiety: A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial.’

The purpose of this study is to assess the feasibility of offering transdiagnostic group cognitive behavioural therapy to birthing parents with symptoms of postpartum depression and/or anxiety.

Half of eligible participants will attend a 10-week group CBT intervention, and half will receive their usual care and not attend the intervention. All participants will complete a questionnaire package and phone interview at three time-points: enrolment, 10
weeks later, and 6 months after enrolling. Participants will receive a $30 gift card for each completed time point (one phone interview + one questionnaire package), for a total of $90 in gift cards if all study measures are completed. The first online group
will start on Thursday, October 16th from 10am-12pm and runs at the same time and day for 10 weeks.
