The Dutch government graciously donated lots of Beautiful Tulips to Swedish Assisted Living Residence as a Thank You for Canada's Role in liberating the Netherlands during WW2. It has brought so many smiles to our Resident's faces and to our Staff. 🌷

Job Opportunity

Position: Licensed Practical Nurse
Hours: Regular Part Time. 22.5 hours a week
Days: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Shift: Evening shift 3 PM – 11 PM. Can be offered other shifts.
Start Date: Immediately
Hourly Rate: CAD $30-$32 (negotiable)

Work as a Licensed Practical Nurse in an Assisted Living environment. New graduates are welcomed. We are willing to train you!

Qualifications:

Currently registered with BCCNM
Practical Nursing Diploma from an accredited institution
Food Safe
WHMIS
Completion of Criminal Record Check
CPR / First Aid
Immunization Records
Caring Attitude

Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provides Assisted Living services such as Medication Administration / Assistance, Activities of Daily Living, Instrumental Activities of Daily Living, and Health Assessment to residents in accordance with the care plan.
2. Completes initial and ongoing assessment of residents using the nursing process.
3. Maintains protection against cross infection by using aseptic techniques while performing wound care, catheterization, ostomy care and other interventions that have the potential for exposure to bodily fluids.
4. Initiates, reviews and plans services with residents, families and staff.
5. Maintains records of nursing observations and interventions including teaching and counseling provided to residents.
6. Reports and documents any unusual occurrences following established protocols.
7. Participates in the planning, implementation and/or evaluation of quality improvement activities to ensure services are provided in the most efficient, safest and effective way.
8. Assigns tasks to Health Care Assistants.
9. Provides direction and education to Health Care Assistants.
10. Maintains a safe environment for residents, families and staff by adhering to established emergency procedures, safety practices, procedures and guidelines for use of equipment and supplies.
