A specialty community pharmacy in Burnaby is seeking a full time experienced pharmacy assistant or technician. A minimum of 1 year experience is preferred.

Responsibilities Include:
Patient greeting and confirmation of accuracy of all pertinent prescription information prior to filling
Data entry of patient care information into Winrx software system (Applied Robotics)
Third Party adjudication (if necessary)
Accurate dispensing prescription medications
Maintenance of pharmacy stock through inventory control systems
Blister Packing
Compressions Socks and Brace Assessment and Fittings (Training and certification provided)
Home Health Care Sales (Walkers, wheelchairs, mobility aids, bath safety equipment, etc)
General OTC enquiries from patients and referral to Pharmacist where required and necessary

Required Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant is an asset
Certification from an accredited pharmacy assistant/technician program
Proficient computer and data entry skills
Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation
Strong communication skills
Demonstrated customer service experience
Flexibility to work a variety of hours which may include days, evenings, and weekends
Ability to work as a team player and have a team approach
Strong motivation to succeed

Hay fever is upon us all, and many will be buying allergy medications. Did you know that anti-histamines (e.g. Reactine/Aerius/Benadryl etc), as well as nasal steroid sprays (e.g. Nasonex, Flonase etc), all need to be used for about a week to reach optimal effect? Using a saline nasal rinse is also another way to remove allergens and reduce allergy symptoms. Call us today for more info!
